- Horikoshi shocked fans by revealing Mt. Lady as the 3rd best hero in Japan.
2024 was quite a mixed year for fans of the My Hero Academia series since the series finally gave fans a proper conclusion which made them jubilant, but that also meant no more new content from Horikoshi. Ever since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting new supplementary stuff, and thankfully, May 2025 delivered just that with the release of the final My Hero Academia fanbook, My Hero Academia Ultra Age.
My Hero Academia: Kohei Horikoshi Finally Reveals What Inspired Him To Write The Series
Horikoshi's real inspiration for the MHA series has finally been revealed. The answer might surprise some fans.
This book revealed a lot of exciting information, from characters to abilities, and even some things about Horikoshi himself. This book also revealed the newest hero rankings in Japan, and there are quite a few shocks, with one Hero beating both Deku and Bakugo to the third spot.
Deku and Bakugo’s New Ranking Has Been Revealed By Horikoshi
They Hold The 4th and 5th Spot Respectively
With the ending of the My Hero Academia series, fans were excited to see where different Heroes ranked on the Billboard Chart, especially beloved characters who had just graduated and started their Hero career.
In the first ranking, Deku did not even make it in the chart as he was not even a hero anymore due to the loss of his power. Meanwhile, Bakugo was the Number 4 Hero. Eventually, however, he dropped all the way down to 15 due to his bad attitude.
"Even if there's nothing left of me, I will win the way I want to!" — Bakugo
The new hero rankings after Deku got his new suit, however, pushes him up a lot. Now, Deku is 4th on the hero ranking, and Bakugo is 5th, with their rivalry continuing. Fans were definitely shocked that neither of these characters cracked the top 3, at the very least.
Mt. Lady Is The Hero That Surpassed Both Of Them
Mount Lady Holds The 3rd Spot
Knowing the top 2 characters wasn't too much of a shock to the fans, and their place hasn't changed for a while now. The Number 1 spot is still held by Mirio, while the number 2 spot belongs to Shoto Todoroki.
However, what shocked most fans in this new ranking is the new 3rd best hero, which is none other than Mt. Lady, Yu Takeyama. Mt. Lady is not really a major character in the My Hero Academia series, however, she has had a few moments to shine.
My Hero Academia: Horikoshi Confirms A Hero Even Stronger Than Mirio And Shoto Todoroki
Mirio and Shoto Todoroki are the number 1 and the number 2 heroes in MHA. Horikoshi reveals a character even stronger.
Today's my debut! Pleased to meet you all! You can call me Mt. Lady! — Mt. Lady
Fans were definitely shocked to see her this high, especially above two of the main characters, Deku and Bakugo. She must have definitely improved over the years, but fans still find this spot rather questionable. Nevertheless, Horikoshi thinks this is where she belongs for now, which means that she must have fulfilled her potential, gotten much stronger, or even gained Quirk Reawakening.
