After more than nine years, the My Hero Academia anime will finally come to a close this upcoming October 4th, 2025, when its eighth and final season premieres on Japanese television and international streaming services. Needless to say, this will certainly be an important occasion for the entire anime community, especially for fans of the series who have read the original manga in its entirety.

While Season 8 will most likely be relatively short when compared to previous seasons, it will feature many memorable moments that My Hero Academia fans have been waiting to see animated for a long time, including the full reveal of Toru Hagakure’s face, Deku’s final battle against Shigaraki and many more that will be discussed on this list.

Toru Hagakure’s Face Reveal

Fans Will Finally Get To See Invisible Girl's Full Design

Toru Hagakure and Aoyama defeat Kunieda in the manga - My Hero Academia
  • Chapter 400: Beyond Limits

For many years, anime viewers wondered what exactly Toru Hagakure (AKA Invisible Girl) looked like, seeing as her Invisibility quirk has allowed her to keep her physical appearance hidden for many seasons. She partially revealed her face back in Season 7, during her emotional confrontation against Yuga Aoyama, but that was just a brief glimpse and not actually a full reveal.

Hagakure’s face reveal will take place in one of the first episodes of the upcoming eighth season. In order to defeat the villain Kunieda (who was already introduced in the previous season), Toru teams up with Aoyama, but her friend’s Naval Laser quirk interferes with her Invisibility and makes her entire body visible to both the other characters and the audience. This will definitely be a humorous scene that will finally put this years-long anime mystery to rest.

Bakugo Defeats All For One

Bakugo's final flurry of explosions against All for One - My Hero Academia
  • Chapter 409: Quirk: Explosion!!

Season 7 ended on a suspenseful cliffhanger, right at the beginning of the climactic final battle between All for One and Armored All Might. However, manga readers are aware that the legendary Symbol of Peace is not going to be able to win the fight alone, but he will at least buy enough time, so Katsuki Bakugo can return to the story and finish the job once and for all.

Last time he was seen in the anime, Bakugo was left on the brink of death by Shigaraki, and it was unclear wehter Edgeshot was going to be able to save him or not, so watching him return in an action-packed final battle against the show’s main antagonist will be both satisfying and thrilling. Based on Bones’ usual quality standard, it’s safe to say that the animated version of this sequence will be a feast for the eyes, especially Bakugo’s final flurry of Howitzer Impacts.

Deku Overlay

One Of Deku’s Coolest And Most Impressive Techniques

Deku faces Shigaraki in his Deku Overlay form - My Hero Academia
  • Chapter 412: History's Maddest Hero

Naturally, the animated version of the final battle between Izuku Midoriya and Tomura Shigaraki will be absolutely amazing, not to mention that it’ll be filled to the brim with many impressive moves and techniques from both combatants. But there’s one specific Ultimate Move that fans can’t wait to finally see in action, and it’s called Deku Overlay.

This technique not only looks really cool, but it also allows Deku to keep his body moving (even after he’s immobilized by the backlash of his Gearshift) quirk by covering himself with Blackwhip’s dark tendrils. The reveal of Deku Overlay remains as one of the best moments of the final battle, not to mention that it further cemented Deku as both a brilliant tactician and a ruthless fighter.

The Final Punch

Shigaraki’s Defeat Will Be Quite Bittersweet

Deku's final punch against Shigaraki's final vestige - My Hero Academia
  • Chapter 423: One For All vs. All For One

It's safe to say that Deku and Shigaraki’s entire confrontation will be a spectacle, from their emotional meeting inside the villain’s mind, to the all-out final war between All For One and all the members of Class 1-A. However, there’s one particular moment that, if adapted appropriately, will become one of the absolute best scenes in the entire My Hero Academia anime: Deku’s final punch, which will put an end to this long battle once and for all.

This final attack will be charged with emotion, because just a few minutes earlier, Deku finds out that Shigaraki had been manipulated by All for One for pretty much his entire life and that destroying his physical body will finally allow his soul to rest in peace. On top of that, Deku’s final punch marks the conclusion of the extensive Final War Arc, so it makes sense that fans can’t wait to see its animated version in Season 8.

Koichi Haimawari’s Cameo

The Protagonist Of Vigilantes Will Make A Special Appearance

Koichi's figure is seen in Chapter 424 of the My Hero Academia manga.
  • Chapter 424: Epilogue

Fans were delighted to finally receive an animated adaptation of the excellent spin-off manga, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, earlier this year. This was a long time coming, not only because Koichi Haimawari’s story is very interesting in and of itself, but also because the original manga had ended in 2022, two years before the main plot of My Hero Academia even came to a close.

Because of this, Koichi makes a very small blink-and-you-miss-it cameo as The Skycrawler after the final battle is over, in which he can be seen supervising the international Pro Heroes’ efforts to help the citizens of Japan. The introduction of Koichi's most powerful version in the main anime (before the rest of Vigilantes gets adapted) will be quite interesting, but most fans are also hoping that Bones will extend his cameo in order to make it a lot less subtle and a lot more exciting.

The Big 3’s Graduation Ceremony

Mirio, Tamaki, And Nejire Will Become Full-Fledged Official Heroes

Nejire celebrates receiving her diploma - My Hero Academia
  • Chapter 425: Unseasonable

It’s very important to point out that Season 8 will not focus entirely on the action, since it will also adapt the Epilogue Arc, which shows what happened to the lives of all the prominent characters after the Final War. This part of the story has a more of a relaxed, slice-of-life atmosphere that will be a much-needed change of pace after all the action, violence and intensity of the final battle.

The Epilogue Arc includes the Graduation Ceremony of U.A. High School’s third-year students, something that was already mentioned back in Season 7. Seeing Mirio Togata, Tamaki Amajiki and Nejiro Hado receive their diplomas and officially become Pro Heroes will be quite satisfying and the anime’s adaptation of this scene will most likely be elevated by high-quality voice acting, a lighthearted soundtrack and colorful animation.

Deku Receives His Suit

The Main Character’s Story Is Not Over Yet

Deku and Class 1-A jumping into action in Chapter 430 - My Hero Academia
  • Chapter 430: My Hero Academia

Another part of the Epilogue Arc that My Hero Academia fans can’t wait to see animated is the eight-year time skip that takes place in Chapter 430 (which was the manga’s original final chapter until the release of Chapter 431). Getting to see the grown-up versions of Class 1-A working as Pro Heroes and rising through the official Hero rankings, while a quirkless Deku works as a respected teacher at U.A. High School, will definitely be both emotional and bittersweet.

However, Deku’s story is not over yet, because just when the final chapter is about to come to a close, All Might interrupts his closing monologue and reveals that all his former classmates have gathered money to fund a specialized armored suit that will allow him to keep working as a Pro Hero. The final shot of Deku and all of his friends working together is one of the most breathtaking and recognizable panels in the entire series, so it’s important that its animated adaptation won’t disappoint fans that are waiting to see it at the end of Season 8.

Deku And Ochaco's Confession

Their “Will They, Won't They” Dynamic Will Finally Pay Off

Deku and Ochaco end up together - My Hero Academia
  • Chapter 431: More

The relationship between Deku and Ochaco Uraraka has been one of My Hero Academia’s biggest unsolved plot threads, as both characters have repeatedly been shown to be romantically interested in each other but never actually confessed their feelings. Even Chapter 430 didn’t reveal whether they had ended up together or not, which caused a lot of commotion among the fan base.

Fortunately, the extra chapter not only solved this plot thread, but it focused almost entirely on it. Chapter 431 revealed that both Uraraka and Deku were too busy with their adult lives to spend time on their personal endeavors but, after thinking about it and discussing it with their closest friends, they finally decided to pursue a romantic relationship with each other. Bones should definitely adapt this chapter, or else they’ll risk leaving anime viewers who are dying to see these characters end up together unsatisfied.
