Listen here! We’re heroes!! And if Heroes don’t talk the talk… then who else is gonna transform ideals into reality?!

Thankfully, Mirio was able to calm Deku down, affirming that Edgeshot is currently saving Bakugo. With this, Deku was able to retain his anger and fear, getting back into battle mode. As the battle continues, Deku attempts to determine whether Tomura is still alive within his body. This is because All For One had taken control of the boy and intended to use his body as its vessel. However, Tomura had a strong will filled with rage and was able to conceal and nurture his origin until it was strong enough to regain control of his body, effectively pushing out All For One and continuing the battle with Deku.

My Hero Academia: The Parallels Between Deku and Koichi, Explained

Koichi and Deku share similar aspirations, but they differ in many aspects, so how do they parallel each other?

During the battle, in Chapter 404, Deku realizes that All Might is about to be killed by All For One. However, he is currently leagues away and restraining Shigaraki with his Quirk: Black Whip. Although it may seem like the former Symbol of Peace was about to die, Bakugo Katsuki emerges from the smoke within U.A.'s flying fortress, and with Deku’s help and the use of Gearshift, Bakugo was able to save All Might. With All For One being taken care of by Bakugo, Deku was able to focus on Shigaraki, continuing to strategize using Danger Sense to predict any incoming attacks and using Gearshift to fight Shigaraki.

With Deku and Shigaraki now focusing on each other, lamenting on the fact that All For One has been killed by Bakugo, in a surprise attack, Shigaraki was able to steal the Fourth User's Quirk: Danger Sense in Chapter 410. Although Shigaraki has no obsession with the Quirks within One For All, he quickly and effectively makes use of the Quirk, dodging Deku’s attacks and greatly wounding him.

I still know somehow, there is some part in you that is human.

Despite the growing threat Shigaraki has become, Deku still wants to save him. Deku has always wanted to be the greatest hero. However, he now has to come to terms with letting go of One For All to defeat Shigaraki from within. Knowing the risks that Shigaraki poses, Deku immediately sets into action, forcibly transferring the Quirks.

The MHA: Vigilantes spin-off introduced some alterations in the anime's first episode; how will these changes affect the anime?

As Deku continued to transfer the Quirks, their consciousness began to merge. Deku made a final attempt to save Shigaraki at his core. However, Shigaraki had chosen to remain a villain for those who had followed his leadership in the League of Villains, like Spinner. However, in this attempt to save Tenko, All For One had regained control of Tenko’s body, leaving Deku to battle All For One with all the Heroes that have taken part in the Final War, while the other One For All users take him down from within.

  • After his death, Shigaraki continues to live in Deku’s memory, promising that he’ll never forget the Symbol of Fear in Chapter 427.
  • Over time, Deku loses the remaining embers of One For All, becoming Quirkless again.
  • Deku declines the invitation to work at Bakugo’s hero agency, enjoying his time as a teacher.

With the Symbol of Evil now gone and Deku now Quirkless once more, Deku becomes a teacher at U.A. High School alongside Aizawa Shota. Eight years after Deku graduated from U.A., he is gifted with his own mechanical suit, once again allowing him to become a part-time hero alongside his former classmates and fostering a potential relationship with Uraraka Ochaco.

In My Hero Academia, some humans have superpowers called quirks. Izuku Midoriya, nicknamed Deku, is not one of them. Deku has always idolized heroes like the number one hero, All Might, and since he was a child, he has always wanted to be a hero. However, his lack of a quirk has always held him back, but a chance encounter with All Might after discovering a classmate in danger sets Deku on the path to becoming a true hero. My Hero Academia centers around Deku and a class of heroes-in-training at UA. This school shapes young quirk users into future heroes through fake rescue missions, combat training, and other hero-tempering tasks. With young Deku inheriting the "One-For-All" quirk, he will learn what it means to be a true hero while facing off with dastardly supervillains.
