This article contains spoilers from My Hero Academia.
Years after Deku inherited One For All, My Hero Academia officially brings his long and arduous journey as a hero to a close. With All For One and Shigaraki Tomura defeated, the final season of the beloved shounen anime is over, and with it comes a better picture of Izuku Midoriya’s power level.
There is no question that Deku ranks among the strongest heroes in My Hero Academia, if not the strongest of all time. His phenomenal display of power against All For One and Tomura Shigaraki in the final war undeniably showed strength on a scale never before seen in hero history. However, with Deku losing One For All at the end of MHA, his power level isn’t the same anymore.
My Hero Academia: Horikoshi Confirms Pro Hero Deku Is The Strongest Version Of Izuku Midoriya
Deku was strong with his quirk, but he is even stronger with his new armor in MHA.
Final War Deku Surpassed Prime All Might
Izuku Midoriya Is the New Symbol of Peace
- Deku is the greatest hero of all time.
- End of series Deku is stronger than Prime All Might.
Without a doubt, Izuku Midoriya peaked in the Final War Arc, showing just how powerful his abilities could be when pushed to the limits. Not only did he juggle the quirk factors of One For All simultaneously, but he also obtained extraordinary raw power passed down from generations of previous wielders, achieving a level of strength that was far superior to prime All Might.
It’s not just All For One who acknowledged Deku’s strength, but also the vestiges who gradually respected his mastery over One For All and the impressive growth he achieved as its final successor. In fact, the rate of Deku’s growth was unprecedented, allowing him to adapt to Tomura’s attacks and defenses in real time. From surpassing Tomura’s super regeneration to potentially killing him with one punch, it became clear that Deku was operating at a different level.
Moreover, the more Deku admired the quirk of every successor, the more he made One For All stronger, which was crucial in bringing out its true potential in the final war. On top of that, Deku also displayed immense combat intelligence against Tomura, which helped him counter lethal attacks and continue fighting despite the strain of wielding multiple quirk factors of One For All at the same time.
End of Series Deku Lost the Power of One For All
Deku Is Quirkless Again
To defeat All For One and Tomura Shigaraki, Deku had to sacrifice One For All and destroy the opponents from the inside. This desperate attempt left Deku with nothing but embers of One For All, rendering him quirkless once more days after he destroyed All For One with that final punch. This means that end-of-series Deku is nowhere near the peak version of himself in the final war arc.
Without One For All, Deku is more vulnerable, but he’s not the kind of opponent anyone can just take lightly. Even a quirkless All Might forced a younger version of All For One to recognize his strength, so the same thing could still apply to Deku if and when a powerful opponent arrives and underestimates his power.
Sometimes I do feel like a failure. Like there's no hope for me. But even so, I'm not gonna give up. Ever!—Izuku Midoriya
After all, Deku still possesses the combat experience, instincts, and skills to juggle the multiple quirk factors of One For All. No one can take these away from him, because they are ingrained in his mind and body, independent of any quirk. It won’t be long before someone gives him a mechanical suit, providing him with the necessary medium to fully leverage his abilities again.
Pro-Hero Deku Remains a Top-Tier Hero
Armored Deku Is Ranked Four in Hero Billboard Chart
While Deku truly lost One For All after fighting Tomura Shigaraki and All For One in My Hero Academia Season 8, extra chapters released by series creator Kohei Horikoshi already revealed that Deku received a powerful mechanical armor from All Might and Class 1-A, which pulled him back on the battlefield again. This mechanical armor basically granted him another chance at using the lost powers of the quirk factors of One For All.
It was also revealed that Deku is now the number 4 hero, just one rank away from Bakugo himself. However, the conditions that placed him at number 4 aren’t clear, whether it was strength or popularity. Still, Deku being at the fourth spot after losing One For All shows just how much respect he earned from the civilians, mentors, and fellow heroes.

In My Hero Academia, some humans have superpowers called quirks. Izuku Midoriya, nicknamed Deku, is not one of them. Deku has always idolized heroes like the number one hero, All Might, and since he was a child, he has always wanted to be a hero. However, his lack of a quirk has always held him back, but a chance encounter with All Might after discovering a classmate in danger sets Deku on the path to becoming a true hero. My Hero Academia centers around Deku and a class of heroes-in-training at UA. This school shapes young quirk users into future heroes through fake rescue missions, combat training, and other hero-tempering tasks. With young Deku inheriting the "One-For-All" quirk, he will learn what it means to be a true hero while facing off with dastardly supervillains.
