Popular YouTube creator MrBeast (real name Jimmy Donaldson) has met with the CEO of T-Series. The unexpected meeting of the YouTube juggernauts triggered memories of the race to become the most-subscribed channel of all time among YouTube viewers.

Avid YouTube watchers would remember how PewDiePie, who used to be the most-subscribed channel on the platform, worked to surpass India's T-Series in the viral "subscriber wars." While PewDiePie did come out victorious, he eventually lost the top spot to the Indian music label and even MrBeast at some point. Years later, MrBeast expressed that he wanted to avenge PewDiePie and have more subscribers than T-Series, which he successfully accomplished in mid-2024.

After MrBeast passed 300 million subscribers, a feat that no YouTuber has done before, he did something that even his fans were surprised by: he met up with Bhushan Kumar, the CEO of T-Series. In a 30-second YouTube Shorts video, MrBeast said he flew all the way to India to meet with Kumar, and offered a friendly challenge that they would subscribe to each other. Both showed themselves clicking the Subscribe buttons on each other's channels on their phones' YouTube app, officially squashing the "rivalry" between the two most-subscribed channels.

In the comment section, many MrBeast fans said that the meeting was certainly unexpected, and that they're glad that the YouTuber and Kumar were on friendly terms. Some also said that MrBeast, PewDiePie, and T-Series should have a collaboration, which could become a viral moment for three of the biggest creators on the platform.

Despite being surpassed by MrBeast as the most-subscribed YouTube channel, PewDiePie still holds the record for having the most-subscribed channel for 2,063 days.

Known for his over-the-top videos and philanthropic efforts, MrBeast has created many viral moments that resulted in millions of viewers flocking to his YouTube channel. MrBeast also landed an Amazon Prime deal to host a show titled Beast Games, where 1,000 players will compete in challenges for a chance to win $5 million.

However, MrBeast has also become one of the most controversial figures in the content creation space due to several allegations of harassment in the workplace of his company and poor quality control of his Lunchly products, among others. While MrBeast has broken his silence to attempt to disprove the accusations made against him, many people are still voicing their displeasure with the creator's character following the controversies.
