A big part of what's made My Hero Academia so popular throughout its run has been its great cast of characters. While Deku is the main focus for a lot of the series, strong supporting characters like All Might, Bakugo, Ochako, and even villains like Shigaraki and Twice all have moments where they get to shine and flesh out the My Hero Academia world.
But like any series, My Hero has its fair share of characters who some fans just can't stand. Be it because of their actions or just how they're written, some fans just hate them. From heroes to villains, these are some MHA characters fans can't stand.
My Hero Academia: Deku's Most OP Moments, Ranked
These moments showed us all just how great a hero Deku really is.
Mt. Lady
She might not appear in the series too much compared to other supporting characters, but Mt. Lady has certainly left a lasting impression on fans, for better or for worse. A top-ranked Pro Hero, Mt. Lady is probably the best example of some of the negative aspects of My Hero Academia's hero society.
She's an incredibly egotistical person who sometimes seems to enjoy the notoriety and perks that come with her status as a hero more than actually being a hero. That said, she's not malicious or cowardly. She's been shown to do the right thing when push comes to shove. But her personality rubs a lot of fans the wrong way, and it's not hard to see why.
Overhaul
Kohei Horikoshi managed to make many of the key villains in the series sympathetic characters who fans ended up sympathizing with. Some fans even prefer certain villains to the main cast. Overhaul isn't one of those villains. In fact, he plays the role so well some fans can't stand him.
It's easy to see why Overhaul would be hated among My Hero Academia fans. Unlike other villains who were shown to have more understandable reasons as to why they turned to villainy, Overhaul's actions have always come across as selfish and misguided. From his inhumane experiments and treatment of Eri, to putting the boss of the Shie Hassaikai in a coma, to creating quirk erasing drugs and killing characters like Sir Nighteye and Magne, My Hero Academia fans have plenty of reasons to hate him.
Minoru Mineta
You can't list off some of the most disliked MHA characters without mentioning Mineta. Probably one of the least impressive members of Class 1-A, Mineta doesn't have much going on as a potential pro hero. But his underwhelming quirk and small role in the story aren't why fans dislike him.
Mineta's whole personality is centered around him being comically perverted. It's pretty much his defining character trait. So you can see why that would rub certain fans the wrong way. He has some moments here and there, but for many, he embodies what some feel to be an outdated trope.
Inasa Yoarashi
First introduced during the Provisional Hero License Exam Arc, Inasa Yoarashi's personality definitely makes him stand out among the rest of My Hero Academia's supporting characters. Inasa's intense personality might be too much for some. He's incredibly energetic and isn't afraid to say whatever's on his mind. Those aren't necessarily bad qualities, but there's something about Inasa that rubs some fans the wrong way.
His initial behavior towards Shoto didn't help his stock much, with his first impression making him seem somewhat petty towards a fan-favorite character. Overall, there's not much wrong with Inasa as a character, but it's easy to see why there are fans who just don't like him.
Yuga Aoyama
For most of the series, Aoyama was a fairly innocuous if somewhat annoying character. His over-the-top and comically vain personality definitely rubbed some fans the wrong way, but it wasn't until he was revealed as the U.A. Traitor that some fans really started to turn on him.
The development did make Aoyama, who had been a pretty one-dimensional comic relief character till that point, much more fleshed out, but it didn't win him many fans. There are definitely those who sympathized with his situation somewhat, but his annoying personality, coupled with his major betrayal, was just too much for many.
Himiko Toga
Toga might be one of the most polarizing characters in My Hero Academia. She has an incredibly loyal fan base within the community, but there are also plenty of fans who either don't like her as a character or who just can't justify her actions.
Many cite the horrible treatment Toga endured growing up as a reason they like her, and it's true that she was a victim of society ostracizing those with unsettling or visibly different quirks/appearances. However, many fans don't see that as an excuse for her actions. Toga has killed an unconfirmed number of people, with some being in self-defense and others less justified. She'll probably continue to be a popular character for years to come, even if some fans just can't stand her or don't like her character.
Endeavor
Endeavor is another incredibly polarizing character, with his past actions having major consequences on both the main narrative and his personal life throughout the series. For a lot of the series and the time leading up to it, Endeavor was an incredibly brash and prideful man, whose ambitions to surpass All Might led to him abusing, neglecting, and ultimately destroying his family.
Endeavor has one of the best character arcs in the series, acknowledging the pain he caused his family, coming to terms with the consequences of his actions, and letting go of the ambition that ruined his and his loved ones' lives, instead looking to make amends. For many fans, he's an irredeemable character who's caused harm to the people closest to him. While fans might appreciate his arc and the strides he makes to atone for his sins, he'll always be a hated character for many.

In My Hero Academia, some humans have superpowers called quirks. Izuku Midoriya, nicknamed Deku, is not one of them. Deku has always idolized heroes like the number one hero, All Might, and since he was a child, he has always wanted to be a hero. However, his lack of a quirk has always held him back, but a chance encounter with All Might after discovering a classmate in danger sets Deku on the path to becoming a true hero. My Hero Academia centers around Deku and a class of heroes-in-training at UA. This school shapes young quirk users into future heroes through fake rescue missions, combat training, and other hero-tempering tasks. With young Deku inheriting the "One-For-All" quirk, he will learn what it means to be a true hero while facing off with dastardly supervillains.
