Since all of the legendary weapons in Assassin's Creed Odyssey cap out at a similar baseline DPS, choosing which weapon to carry through the endgame can be a bit of a quandary. For the most part, everything is going to boil down to the engravings. The unique traits that these offer for each legendary weapon and the way that they complement the player's build will generally determine which they should be hunting down.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey: 8 Ways To Shake Up A Second Playthrough
Players who are looking to start a second round of Assassin's Creed Odyssey may want to spice their playthrough up in the following ways.
That said, some of the legendary armaments that your misthios will stumble across over the course of their sojourn through ancient Greece are simply going to be better than others, regardless of your preference or build. Whether they achieve higher damage potential through a set of focused damage bonuses or possess a particularly stellar legendary engraving, the ten legendary weapons listed below are definitely the ten best to be found in Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
Updated April 10, 2025, by Gerardo Molina: Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a great title in a longstanding franchise, and while many veteran players are still not happy with the great change between the series’ usual formula and the RPG elements that were introduced in Origins, it’s undeniable that playing as Alexios or Kassandra is always great fun. Throughout the game, players will have the chance to find and obtain many different weapons, some of which are amazing and others not so much. This list will cover the most powerful weapons in the game, so those looking to create an overpowered build will definitely find several great options to try.
15 Hades' Bow
A Powerful Weapon With Great Fire Damage
- Type: Bow
- Engravings: +25% Warrior Damage, +40% Fire Damage, Basic Arrows become Fire Arrows
The Hades’ Bow is an outstanding weapon that players who like to engage in long-range combat will definitely love. It has metal spikes running along the length of its limbs, and every arrow that's nocked into it catches fire as it flies, dealing substantial damage to any enemies that are unlucky enough to cross its path.
This weapon not only deals substantial Warrior and Fire Damage, but it also works to be part of the most overpowered builds out there. To obtain it, players will have to eliminate a mercenary with the “epithet of the Ashen Wake”. It shares its model with the Cursed Bow of Hades in the Fate of Atlantis: Torment of Hades DLC. However, the latter has a green glow and bears a completely different color, making it easy to differentiate one from the other. All in all, Hades’ Bow is a great choice for those who like long-ranged combat and enjoy watching their enemies be set ablaze with a single hit of their arrows.

Created by Hephaistos, the Isu scientist, the Sword of Damokles is an outstanding weapon in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. By the late 5th century BCE, the Sword of Damokles had come into possession of the Cult of Kosmos. It was later passed down to Deimos, grandson of the legendary King Leonidas of Sparta.
The powers that this weapon contains are the following: Energy blast projection, physical empowerment, charisma and morale enhancement, energy trap placement, and energy shield generation. This weapon also played a significant part in the Peloponnesian War and the War of Unification.

12 The Fanged Bow
Great Poison Damage
- Type: Bow
- Engravings: +11% Assassin's Damage, +12% Poison Damage, All normal arrows are poison arrows.
Although there are a lot of great weapons available in Assassin's Creedy Odyssey, some of them are reserved for the late-to-end game. The Fanged Bow is one fantastic exception, as players can get their hands on it pretty early in their adventure (minimum level of 23). This long-range weapon comes with additional Assassin and Poison Damage but its coup de grace is the fact that it turns normal arrows into poison arrows. This will allow you to clear waves of enemies while also applying dot damage to stronger foes.
Where to find The Fanged Bow
- The Fanged Bow is found in the Cave of Mt. Zas in Naxos.
11 The Hammer Of Jason
A Great Pair With The Shield Breaker Ability
- Type: Heavy Blunt
- Engravings: +9% Warrior Damage, +6% Damage with Heavy Blunt Weapons, 20% damage increase when used with Shield Breaker.
The Hammer of Jason is a great find for players that love the Shield Breaker Warrior skill. Those carrying both Hammer of Jason and the Shield Breaker ability will be able to completely eradicated shield-based enemies, by first taking their defenses away and then hitting them for an additional 20% damage thanks to the blunt weapon's third engraving. Those that like to fight up-close-and-personal will greatly benefit from this awesome heavy-blunt weapon. They'll never have to worry about breaking through a shielded player's defenses ever again with this tandem.
Where to find The Hammer Of Jason

10 Poseidon's Trident
Wonderful Critical Damage Boost
- Type: Spear
- Engravings: +15% Warrior Damage, +25% Critical Damage, Wielder can breathe underwater.
Firstly, it's a trident, and skewering your opponent on a gigantic fork is worth quite a bit in terms of style points. But the true worth of Poseidon's Trident is utilitarian in nature, although it does come loaded with a couple of engravings that will boost combat performance considerably.
The legendary engraving on Poseidon's Trident allows the wielder to breathe underwater, which is totally invaluable for the game's myriad underwater sections. The fact that this perk doesn't really provide any meaningful boost to damage or combat functionality hurts it in terms of ranking, but it's so useful that it at least secures its place as an honorable mention.
Where To Find Poseidon's Trident
- Poseidon's Trident is found on an unmarked island in Northeast of Greece, between Chios and Samos.
9 Mallet of Everlasting Flame
Normal Attacks Turn Into Flame Damage
- Type: Heavy Blunt
- Engravings: +15% Warrior Damage, +20% Flame Damage, Converts all normal attacks to Flame Damage.
Glossing over the inherent coolness factor of swinging around a massive flaming bludgeon, which is decidedly not very typical of the Assassin's Creed style, the Mallet of Everlasting Flame is an incredibly sound choice of weaponry. The legendary engraving converts all normal attacks into flame damage, which can save you a slot on your skill bar.
It also provides a twenty percent bonus to flame damage. Stacking with the fifteen percent increase to warrior damage, you wind up with an incredibly solid damage boost that sets enemies on fire without needing to rely on popping the Flaming Attacks skill.
Where To Find Mallet Of Everlasting Flame
- The Mallet Of Everlasting Flame is found by defeating a Mercenary with the "last name" The Smoldering.
8 Prometheus' Sika
Outstanding Fire Damage Boost
- Type: Sword
- Engravings: +25% Warrior Damage, +40% Fire Damage, +15% Fire Damage and Buildup.
Prometheus' Sika is a pyromaniac's dream. Its legendary engraving might seem a little underwhelming at first, providing a fifteen percent boost to fire buildup when attempting to set your foes aflame. But combined with its other default attributes, you wind up doing a fearsome amount of damage with it.
It also carries considerable increases to both warrior and flame damage, and all those numbers add up to a massive chunk. You'll need to rely on the Flaming Attacks skill in order to reap the full suite of benefits from it, but it's more than worth the skill investment.
Where To Find Prometheus' Sika
- Prometheus' Sika can be found by defeating a Mercenary with the "last name" The Spark.
7 Dionysos' Tears
Players Gain Adrenaline For Critical Hits
- Type: Dagger
- Engravings: +25% Assassin Damage, +40% Adrenaline gained per Critical Hit, 2% chance to deal 25% additional Assassin Damage on each Melee Hit.
- The Dionysos' Tears dagger is a part of the Dionysos Pack DLC, however it's also available as a piecemeal purchase from the Helix store. Whatever route you choose when it comes to acquiring it, you're going to be pleasantly surprised with the results, to say the very least.
Dyonisos' Tears regular engravings lean into the Assassin play style nicely, packing in a healthy boost (up to 25%) for Assassin damage and increasing adrenaline gain from critical hits. What really stands out is the legendary engraving that has a slight chance to deal a flat 25% of your assassin damage when landing a melee strike.
The only drawback is that it's a two percent chance, making it unreliable. But when it does pop, you're going to feel it.
Where To Find Dionysos' Tears
- Dionysos' Tears are found in the Dionysos Pack DLC.
6 Bident of the Underworld
Increased Damage With Spears
- Type: Spear
- Engravings: +25% Warrior Damage, +30% Damage with Spears, +25% Warrior Damage but -15% Ranged Resistance
The Bident of the Underworld is available as a Helix store purchase, either by itself or as a part of the Underworld Mythical Pack DLC. It's arguably one of the strongest spears in the game, providing an absurd damage boost almost unconditionally.
The 13 Best Outfits In Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Odyssey is a sprawling, complex game with a ton of different customization choices, and, while collecting armor may be fun, not all sets are equal.
After it's been topped out, this thing stacks a twenty-five percent bonus to warrior damage alongside a meaty thirty percent increase to spear damage. If that wasn't enough, the legendary engraving also boosts warrior damage by twenty-five percent, but with the slight catch of reducing your ranged resistance by fifteen percent.
Where To Find The Bident Of The Underworld
- The Bident Of The Underworld is found in the Underworld Mythical Pack DLC.
