In June, NetherRealm Studios launched the Mortal Kombat 11  Kombat League, a ranked online mode that lets players compete against one another, over the course of seasons, in order to obtain special rewards. The Kombat League centers around best two out of three sets, and a set's victor wins points toward prestigious titles and exclusive MK11  cosmetics. For some, these rewards provide a reason to continue playing Mortal Kombat 11, however, an MK11  glitch is currently causing some serious problems for these players.

Commonly referred to as the Mortal Kombat 11  forfeit glitch, this exploit allows players to stall out matches, which prevents their opponents from moving onto other fights. The options for those that are on the receiving end of the MK11  forfeit glitch are either to concede themselves, which is counted as a loss on their Kombat League record, or wait and hope for the exploiter to give up. With some players suggesting that they have been stuck in an MK11  forfeit stall for hours, neither option is very appealing.

As for why someone might enact the Mortal Kombat 11  forfeit stall, the answer is simple: it gives players a chance to turn a loss into a win. For full clarity, some players that are close to a Kombat League loss are choosing to use the MK11  forfeit exploit in the hope that the would-be winner will surrender and give the exploiter the victory.

Certainly, players that have been hit by the Mortal Kombat 11  forfeit exploit are finding it extremely frustrating indeed, and some are suggesting that they will not participate in the MK11  Kombat League until it has been fixed. At this time, it is not known exactly when such a fix for the glitch will come, but NetherRealm Studios Community Manager Tyler Lansdown has indicated on Twitter that the developer is aware of the problem and is "looking into it."

Around the launch of Mortal Kombat 11, players did encounter a number of game-breaking MK11  bugs, but those did not illicit quite the level of frustration that this player-enacted glitch is. That said, the aforementioned bugs were addressed quite promptly by NetherRealm, and it seems likely that the company will get this MK11  forfeit exploit under control in short order as well.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version in development.
