Update 4/30: Mortal Kombat 11 currency rewards are now reportedly raised for PC players. Original story follows.
Since the Mortal Kombat 11 release date last week, NetherRealm Studios has been busy addressing the community and its concerns about a number of aspect of the new fighting game. Indeed, the developers have promised to target the issues that players have taken with the Mortal Kombat 11 Towers of Time and the game's currency rewards. Now, Moral Kombat 11 Update 1.03 looks to make good on this promise, and it is currently available on PS4.
A central focus of Mortal Kombat 11 Version 1.03 is to raise currency rewards in a number of ways. More specifically, players should expect to see the Koin rewards increased from completing Towers and Tower Platforms, from Dragon Challenges, and for fights in general. Additionally, Fatalities, Brutalities, and Mercies will grant more Hearts than they have been previous to the Mortal Kombat 11 1.03 Patch.
While players are currently identifying the full scope of the increased rewards for completing Towers, the impact of the Mortal Kombat 11 1.03 Update is starting to become clear. For example, it is reported that finishing a Dragon Challenge is now granting 1,000 Koins, up from the 100 Koins that were given previously, and winning a fight also comes with approximately 1,000 Koins.
With respect to Hearts, it has been indicated that executing one of the Mortal Kombat 11 Fatalities now gives a player three Hearts, a substantial increase from the one Heart that fans would receive pre-patch. Furthermore, Brutalities are said to be granting five Hearts, and showing Mercy before a Fatality or Brutality increases this number even further, to six Hearts and eight Hearts respectively.
Notably, Mortal Kombat 11 Patch 1.03 does not appear to increase Souls Fragment rewards. This currency type is one that many players are certain to be trying to farm in bulk, and winning a fight continues to reward 10 Mortal Kombat 11 Soul Fragments, as was the case prior to the update.
NetherRealm has further indicated that the Mortal Kombat 11 1.03 Version is "coming soon" for PC, Switch, and Xbox One players. Until then, it seems that these fans will have to make due with the rewards that have already been established for taking their favorite Mortal Kombat 11 characters into battle.
Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
