The newest Mortal Kombat 1 trailer highlights the game’s revamped version of Sektor, giving players a look at her Fatality and role in the upcoming Khaos Reigns story expansion. Almost a year after Mortal Kombat 1 launched, NetherRealm is releasing the game’s first story-based DLC expansion on September 24. Building off the brief cliffhanger teaser at the end of the base Mortal Kombat 1 story campaign, Khaos Reigns will see an alternate reality version of Havok raise a multiversal army to spread destruction and anarchy through Liu Kang’s rebooted universe.
Just like the base Mortal Kombat 1 story, Khaos Reigns will introduce new versions of classic MK characters, particularly the cyborg Lin Kuei warriors Cyrax and Sektor. While the duo have already appeared in their classic incarnations as Kameo fighters, the upcoming DLC versions have been drastically reimagined as female assassins who seemingly wear high-tech suits of armor instead of having their bodies augmented with cybernetics. In a quick teaser for Sektor’s full MK 1 gameplay trailer, NetherRealm revealed that she is also the daughter of Madame Bo, a former Lin Kuei who has since retired to run a teahouse that Raiden and Kung Lao frequent.
Mortal Kombat 1 Giving Away Free Kenshi Skin
NetherRealm Studios is giving away a new skin for Mortal Kombat 1, once again treating players to a fresh look for one of the game’s fighters.
Even more information about Mortal Kombat 1’s revamped Sektor has been unveiled in a new trailer. In it, the warrior demonstrates her fighting style and high-tech weaponry, bombarding her foes with missiles and rocket thruster-enhanced melee strikes. Sektor’s X-Ray Move is also shown, with the armored assassin lifting her opponent high in the air and unleashing a volley of rapid punches that shatter their ribcage. Her first Fatality also utilizes her rocket boots as she carries her unlucky enemy into space, only to thrust them back to Earth, incinerating them through re-entry.
Sektor Unleashes Cybernetic Attacks Against the Lin Kuei’s Enemies in Mortal Kombat 1
Sektor’s new Mortal Kombat 1 trailer also shares more details about her role in the Khaos Reigns DLC story campaign. She starts as a loyal follower of Sub-Zero’s Lin Kuei clan until Bi-Han disappears into a portal while chasing after the invading Titan Havok. This will presumably lead to Bi-Han’s conversion into Noob Saibot, while Sektor seems to strike up a temporary alliance with Liu Kang and his allies to protect Earthrealm and rescue her leader.
The trailer then shares one final tidbit about Sektor ahead of her Mortal Kombat 1 debut: her Animality. These fan-favorite Mortal Kombat Finishers are being added to Mortal Kombat 1 with the Khaos Reigns DLC, allowing players to eliminate their opponents by transforming into animals. In Sektor’s case, the fighter turns into a rhino and impales her foe with her horn before brutally dragging them against the ground. Both Sektor and these Animatlies will be added to Mortal Kombat 1 when Khaos Reigns launches on September 24.
