After producing a string of successful games, including two entries in the popular Monument Valley puzzle game series, Ustwo Games is ready to unveil its next project. In a recent YouTube teaser, the indie developer unveiled Alba: A Wildlife Adventure.
The brief 30 second trailer takes place on a colorful mountain overlooking a shore with sailboats and a small island on the horizon. After introducing Ustwo Games and its previous hit titles through a series of books, papers, and photographs emblazoned with art from past projects, the camera pans over a Mediterranean fauna guidebook, a camera, a clipboard holding a sign up sheet for an "island cleanup initiative," and a newspaper headline about two girls starting a wildlife league. The view then zooms out to show one of the girls herself looking out over the horizon.
In the final seconds, Ustwo reveals that its new indie game will be the studio's first mainstream console title (outside of one game exclusively for VR systems). However, it does not specify which consoles Alba will be available for, and only states that the game is also coming to iOS, MacOS, PC, and tvOS.
Although no gameplay has been released yet, the game's art style and animation of nature invokes a serene tone that other major hits like Firewatch developed. Hopefully, Ustwo's new game will live up to the promising intrigue its trailer provides.
Alba: A Wildlife Adventure is currently in development for iOS, MacOS, PC, tvOS, and other consoles.
