Earlier this year, Capcom revealed that Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, a forthcoming expansion to the smash hit monster hunting game from 2018, will release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this September. However, it seems that those that have a PS4 will not need to wait that long to get a taste of the new Monster Hunter World  expansion, as Capcom has just announced two Monster Hunter World: Iceborne  beta tests, which will be available exclusively to PlayStation 4 owners.

The first Monster Hunter World: Iceborne  beta is set to begin this Friday, June 21, at 3am PDT, and it will conclude on Monday, June 24, at 3am PDT. As mentioned, only PS4 players will have access to the test, and joining this first Monster Hunter World expansion beta will require an active PlayStation Plus subscription.

From there, a second Monster Hunter World  DLC beta will occur, and this one will be available to all PlayStation 4 players, regardless of if they are PS Plus members or not. This second Monster Hunter World: Iceborne  PS4 beta will take place from Friday, June 28 at 3am PDT to Monday, July 1 at 3am PDT. Notably, neither of these betas require players to own a copy of Monster Hunter World.

With respect to the contents of these MHW Iceborne  beta tests, it is said that three quests will be available. The first quest will be familiar to those that have played the base game, as it is a simple hunt for a Great Jargas, but the other two will offer something new indeed.

Specifically, one of the betas' quests will have hunters taking on a Banbaro, one of the new Monster Hunter World: Iceborne  monsters, and the other will send them out against Tigrex, a monster that was first introduced in Monster Hunter Freedom 2. Without question, many players will be thrilled to gain early access to these two new beasts.

Additionally, players that participate in the MHW Iceborne  PS4 beta will be able to make use of 14 weapons and experiment with the new Monster Hunter World  Clutch Claw. Certainly, it seems that these Monster Hunter World: Iceborne  beta tests have quite a lot to offer, and they should keep anticipation for the expansion high until it releases later this year.

Monster Hunter World  is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The Iceborne expansion launches on September 6, 2019 for PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC release to follow in 2020.
