Monster Hunter World players that are working on the Fungal Flexin' in the Ancient Forest quest should focus on interacting with the Unique Mushroom Colonies that appear on the Ancient Forest map. Indeed, those gathering points have a very high chance of awarding Gourmet Shroomcaps, and they appear as pink icons on the in-game map. If a player has yet to reveal any of those icons, they should simply reference the map below, which showcases a route that can be taken to access numerous Unique Mushroom Colonies.

Players can use the gathering filter on the in-game map to make locating Unique Mushroom Colonies much easier. While this is certainly not mandatory, it can be helpful if the player is not starting from the Ancient Forest's Southwest Camp.
To note, if a player has not obtained all 20 Gourmet Shroomcaps after visiting the Unique Mushroom Colonies shown on the map that is above, they should simply return to area four and harvest them again. Indeed, these gathering points replenish after just three minutes, making them an unlimited source for Gourmet Shroomcaps. That said, fans should certainly feel free to look for Unique Mushroom Colonies in other areas, as they are found all over Monster Hunter World's Ancient Forest.
Once a player has 20 Gourmet Shroomcaps in hand, they will be given the opportunity to leave the Ancient Forest. The Fungal Flexin' in the Ancient Forest quest will be marked as complete upon taking that opportunity, and fans will receive the associated rewards before loading into the location to which they have opted to travel. Among those rewards are a new ingredient for Monster Hunter World's canteen as well as a small amount of Zenny, which players can put to use in a variety of ways.
