There are five monsters that drop the Monster Fluid. Starting with the Large Monster, players must hunt down Lala Barina, who first appears in the main quest "A Stage of Rose and Thorn." Lala Barina can be found in the Scarlet Forest and the Ruins of Wyveria, the latter of which is unlocked later in the story. The chance for Monster Fluid to drop from this Large Monster is only 18%. Moving on to the Smaller Monsters, there are quite a few options to go for:

  • Bulaqchi: 30% chance to drop the Fluid, located in the Plains.
  • Vespoid: 20% chance, located in the Forest, Basin, Cliffs, and Wyveria.
  • Comaqchi: 30% chance, located in the Cliffs.
  • Nerscylla Hatchlings: 100% chance upon carving them, located in the Cliffs.

Players who are planning to farm them can head to Alma and check out the Optional Quest "Buggin' in the Desert" at the Quest Counter. This quest tasks you with slaying 12 Bulaqchi. Since each Bulaqchi has a 30% chance of rewarding Monster Fluid, you can end up with quite a few by the time the quest completes. This quest requires Hunter Rank 1 and barely takes any time, making it ideal for farming in the early game.

After progressing through the main story and reaching Iceshard Cliffs, players will get to fight Nerscylla during the main quest "The Quiet, Cunning Assassin." This Large Monster has Nerscylla Hatchlings around it, which, when carved, have a 100% Monster Fluid drop rate.

You can either replay an optional quest to fight Nerscylla again or simply go to areas 2, 4, and 5 in Iceshard Cliffs to find some roaming.
