Despite some of the criticism that has been levied at the game, Monster Hunter Wilds has been a massive success for Capcom. Although it hasn't received as much love from fans as Monster Hunter: World has, it's still the best-selling video game of 2025 in the United States so far, and it's among the top five highest-rated titles of the year. Monster Hunter Wilds has earned the honor of being one of Steam's most concurrently played games of all time, and it reached a million more players at launch than any of its predecessors. The game's success shows what a global juggernaut the Monster Hunter franchise has become in recent years, in spite of its humble origins.
As is customary for the Monster Hunter series, Capcom has released a bunch of extra content since its initial debut. Back in April, Monster Hunter Wilds launched the first Title Update for the game, which not only added a Grand Hub and some Arena Quests but also introduced a few limited-time events, such as the Festival of Accord. Street Fighter 6 crossover content, meanwhile, was added to the game in the recent Version 1.011 update, alongside a handful of challenging new monsters. Although Monster Hunter Wilds has already received a decent number of patches, there is still a lot more to come, especially with Title Update 2 on the horizon.

Monster Hunter Wilds' recent collab includes an Akuma armor set, and its abilities could hint at the future of the Street Fighter series.
Monster Hunter Wilds' Next Major Update is Going to Be Filled With New Content
Title Update 2 Will Introduce Several New Monsters
Yuya Tokuda, the director of Monster Hunter Wilds, recently revealed his plans for the future of the game in an official Capcom blog post. There, he outlined some of the features that were added to Wilds in its Version 1.011 update, along with some of the content that Capcom has in store for the game's next major patch. According to Tokuda, Title Update 2 will bring a bunch of 8-star-tempered monsters to the game, as well as an all-new arch-tempered monster. Tokuda has stated that, just like the beasts that were introduced to Monster Hunter Wilds in Version 1.011, these upcoming monsters will be tough to defeat.
Capcom Will Make Balance Adjustments and Add Quality-of-Life Features in Title Update 2
Monster Hunter Wilds' second Title Update is going to contain some miscellaneous new features, as well. The patch will add a few new settings to Monster Hunter Wilds' Photo Mode, such as the ability to disable character displays and the option to toggle off the glowing effects of skills and items. Capcom will also allow players to view skill details across various screens with the press of a single button, thus making build optimization easier than ever before. Layered weapons, which are basically the Monster Hunter equivalent of transmogrification, are also going to be implemented in Title Update 2.
Like most patches that have been released for the game, Monster Hunter Wilds' second Title Update will also make a bunch of balance adjustments. Tokuda stated in his Director's Letter that the Hammer, one of the more common weapon categories in Monster Hunter Wilds, will receive various buffs, such as the addition of offset effects for specific attacks and the inclusion of follow-up attacks upon successful offsets. The Dual Blades are going to get some major changes, too, but Tokuda didn't provide any specific information about what said changes are.
Monster Hunter Wilds' Next Title Update Will Come Out in Summer 2025
Although Tokuda didn't mention this in his Director's Letter, Capcom confirmed a few weeks ago that Title Update 2 will also feature a new Festival of Accord seasonal event. Details on the event are still scarce, but given the pace that Capcom has adhered to with its updates so far, it's likely that it will go live about two or three weeks after the launch of the patch. Title Update 2 is currently slated to release across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC sometime in the summer of 2025, and like all of Monster Hunter Wilds' patches, it will be free to all players.
