Acute Fang is a high rank weapon and armor crafting material in Monster Hunter Wilds that can be a bit tricky to obtain if players do not know where to look for it. Required to craft certain pieces of endgame equipment, finding it quickly is crucial for players hoping to forge these items for their hunter.

Luckily, Acute Fangs are simple to obtain once you know where to look and what to hunt. This guide covers all monsters that drop Acute Fangs and the most efficient method to farm them in record time. Here’s the breakdown.

How to Farm Acute Fangs in Monster Hunter Wilds

While there are six monsters that can possibly drop an Acute Fang when killed and carved, only the Gajios has a 100% drop rate. This means that every time you kill a Gajios at High-Rank, you’re guaranteed an Acute Fang drop. Here is a step-by-step process to farm Acute Fangs by hunting Gajios.

  • Set up three pop-up camps:
    • Area 10: Southeast (Windward Plains)
    • Area 12: Northeast (Scarlet Forest)
    • Area 8: Underground Lake (Scarlet Forest)
  • Fast travel to Area 8: Underground Lake and hunt the three Gajios in the red river on the other side of the waterfall (pictured above).
  • Fast travel to Area 12: Northeast (Scarlet Forest) and hunt the four Gajios in the red river.
  • Fast travel to Area 10: Southeast (Windward Plains) and hunt the five Gajios in the surrounding area.
  • Fast travel back to Area 8: Underground Lake (Scarlet Forest) and repeat the process.

Fast traveling between regions resets all small monsters (and resources) in the World. So, the slayed Gajios are revived and roaming again, allowing players to obtain as many Acute Fangs from them as they need.

Optionally, you can also use the Filter Icons function in the map, select ‘Small Monsters,’ and then choose ‘Minimap Filter Settings’ to select ‘Apply Filter to Minimap.’ This will make it so your minimap will only highlight the nearby Small Monsters in the area, making finding the exact location of the Gajios very easy.

The Mining Outcrops in Area 8 drop Novacrystal, Earth Crystal, and Carbalite Ore.
