Capcom has provided a free title update roadmap for Monster Hunter Wilds throughout the first half of 2025, as director Yuya Tokuda celebrates 10 million copies of the game sold with the community. To commemorate the feat, Capcom is releasing a free item pack for Monster Hunter Wilds players with more information coming soon, and the team thanked the community for providing feedback to help tailor future content.

Monster Hunter Wilds was released back in February 2025, serving as a successor to 2018’s Monster Hunter: World with support for cross-platform play. Hunters are tasked with exploring the Forbidden Lands in this entry, featuring several dangerous biomes and a wealth of colorful monsters to beat. Before Capcom’s first major update outlined ahead, Monster Hunter Wilds players should expect a hefty downtime to prepare, starting on March 31, with the biggest downtime period scheduled for April 3.

Despite some obvious differences on the surface, Monster Hunter Wilds and Xenoblade Chronicles X share enough in common that fans may find overlap.

Joining Monster Hunter Wilds’ previously revealed DLC release schedule, which confirmed two DLCs, one free and the other paid, for April and Summer 2025, Tokuda and the Capcom team presented the game’s free title update roadmap within a blog post. With a focus on balance adjustments, quality of life improvements, and game stability and game cycle balance enhancements, Capcom plans to release Title Update 1 on April 3 PDT and April 4 BST, featuring Mizutsune, Grand Hub, Zoh Shia, and Arena Quests.

A seasonal event, showcasing Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, will drop at the end of April and run until the beginning of May. The end of May will see another update, followed by the larger Title Update 2 planned for Summer 2025. Tokuda also confirmed future updates will involve more Tempered Monsters, beginning with Mizutsune’s unlocking at HR 21 or higher within the first title update, and some Monster Hunter Wilds fans are hoping the teased Lagiacrus appears at some point down the line.

In addition to the expansive 2025 content laid out in the roadmap, Monster Hunter Wilds will receive new Event and Challenge Quests with unmissable rewards up for grabs. Quests such as Like a Fire Hidden by Sand and Congalala Cravings are currently running until April 1, with various rewards including new resources, special headgear, and the chance to win Hunter Rank points on offer, and April will also feature a further four quests for players to take part in. Furthermore, the first Challenge Quest is expected to commence on April 4, titled Doshaguma of the Hollow.
