Monster Hunter Wilds has rolled out a brand-new event quest for players to challenge, pitting players against the fearsome Arch-Tempered Rey Dau with the chance to earn some exclusive armor. The newest entry in the beloved monster-hunting franchise has been a smash hit for developer Capcom, selling more than 10 million copies within just two months of its release. The game officially saw its first major post-launch update earlier this month, adding the fan-favorite Mizutsune alongside a new online hub. Now, Capcom is rolling out a brand-new event for the game.

The first two months following Monster Hunter Wilds' release has seen plenty of limited-time events starring different monsters. Capcom recently launched Wilds' "Festival of Accord: Blossomdance" Spring-themed event, bringing new sakura-themed armor and equipment alongside special decorations for the Grand Hub. Wilds' events have ranged from hunting some of the game's most elusive monsters to special, cooking-themed quests with unique ingredients. Now, one of Monster Hunter Wilds' new beasts is the focus for the game's next event.

Monster Hunter Wilds officially launched its newest event on Tuesday night, tasking players with taking on an imposing, electrifying enemy. Monster Hunter Wilds saw the addition of the "A Silent Flash" event quest to the game, pitting players against the fearsome Arch-Tempered Rey Dau. Defeating the Arch-Tempered Rey Dau will give players the chance to pick up some exclusive materials, used to craft the "Rey Dau Gamma" armor set. Players will need to reach Hunter Rank 50 before they can challenge the Arch-Tempered Rey Dau, with the event quest set to be available through May 20.

Monster Hunter Wilds Adds Arch-Tempered Rey Dau Event Quest

The new Rey Dau Gamma set is expected to provide a significant upgrade for players willing to spend the time farming the new Event Quest. The Rey Dau Beta Equipment set already offers a suite of powerful Skills for players using the full armor set, including Maximum Might and Latent Power among others. The set is also expected to similarly provide the "Rey Dau's Voltage" Set Bonus, extending the activation time for Latent Power, while also providing superior resistance to Thunder damage.

Monster Hunter Wilds' newest event quest comes as the franchise's newest entry looks to have plenty more on the way for fans. May will welcome another major update to Wilds, with a new collaboration with another Capcom franchise coming near the end of the month. Monster Hunter Wilds is also scheduled to launch its "Title Update 2" during the Summer, with the Lagiacrus expected to be coming to the game as part of the patch. Capcom looks primed to continue Monster Hunter Wilds' success in the coming months with lots in store.
