Purecrystal is one of the new materials introduced in the Sunbreak expansion for Monster Hunter Rise, opening the doors for players to craft some really powerful weapons and gear. Instead of running around all the different maps the expansion offers, Sunbreak players can use this guide to learn how to get their hands on some Purecrystal and save themselves precious time.
It’s worth noting that the in-game description for Purecrystal states that it can only be found in the Forest, but that’s actually not true at all. Purecrystal can only be mined at the Flooded Forest locale in Master Rank.
Where to Find Purecrystal in Sunbreak
As mentioned above, the easiest way to acquire Purecrystal in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is to take a trip to the Flooded Forest.
Instead of taking on a quest with Chichae at the Elgado outpost quest counter, players should go on an expedition to the Flooded Forest. That way, players can quickly check out all the blue and silver mining nodes within the map without having to hunt any large monsters.
Purecrystal can be found by mining both types of Outcrops, and an easy way to see all their locations in the Flooded Forest is to open the Detailed Map and choose the Mining Outcrop in the Icon List.
Doing this will hide all the other icons on the map, showing only the mining spots. The images below will show all locations for the mining nodes, and players can go up to them and press A to gather materials. There’s no guarantee that players will always get Purecrystal, but it’s highly likely.
If Monster Hunter Rise players want a better chance at obtaining Purecrystal, they can try to equip the Geologist skill on their hunter (either through decorations or armor set abilities). The Geologist skill, at level 1, allows players to gather one extra time from bonepiles.
At level 2, players can gather an extra time from gathering points. And the third level, which is the most important, allows players to get extra materials from mining nodes.
The closest Mining Outcrop will be a blue-colored one in Zone 1 of the Flooded Forest, so players should look there first, and then make a trip to the other ones on the map.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is available for Nintendo Switch and PC.
