Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak - How to Photograph a…

While there are many regular hunting quests to take on at the quest counter in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, there are also dozens of side quests to accept from various NPCs. One of the quests hunters can start is called 'Giant in the Frost Islands?' and to complete it, players will need to photograph a creature known as a Monksnail.

This guide will go over where to find the Monksnail in Monster Hunter Rise and the reward for the request.

How to Start the Request

After Sunbreak players make some progress through Master Rank, keep an eye out for a blue text bubble above Flur the Sailor's head. He has a stand near the big ship at the Elgado outpost. Next to him are some other merchant carts run by Fran and Ziretta.

He wants players to snap a photo of a Monksnail. To do this, players should take on an expedition and head toward the Frost Islands. However, hunters will need to visit the map at nighttime in order for the Monksnail to come out of hiding.

Where to Find Monksnail

Once players are at the Frost Islands, they'll want to head to the east side of the map, just southeast of Area 8 and northeast of Area 5.

If players look out towards the water, they should see a giant gelatinous-looking monster near some rocks. It has glowing yellow eyes and resembles some sort of slime.

Pull out the camera and take a quick picture of it for the request to be completed. Hunters can now quit the expedition and return to Flur the Sailor to collect a reward. As a little fun secret, players can perform a gesture, like a wave, and the monster will wave back. It won't repeat every single motion, but it will react to them in some way.
