Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak has added an immense amount of content to the already expansive release, but players that are new to the title are just now making their way through the base game itself in an attempt to reach Elgado and see all there is to see in the pristine Jungle. There are tons of monsters that stand between players and the new DLC, with many of them dropping useful materials that are required to upgrade certain weapons and armor sets.

Those that enjoy using Sleep-based weaponry, or are attempting to upgrade a specific armor set, will need to get their hands on a Torpor Sac. This uncommon drop can be elusive for some, especially if players are unsure what Monster they need to be hunting or where exactly to find the sedating material. Here's where players can get their hands on the Torpor Sac in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.

Where To Find Torpor Sac In Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

Those that need to farm the Torpor Sac will need to familiarize themselves with the Great Baggi, a large version of the smaller blue-hued creatures that roam the Frost Islands. Usually, the Torpor Sac will only drop around 32% of the time from the Great Baggi, but, thankfully, there are ways to greatly increase the odds of snagging this uncommon drop. Players that are simply hunting the creature during an expedition will be subject to the low base drop rates, but those on a hunt specifically targeting the monster (such as a Village or Hub quest) will see a 30% increase in the drop rate. Additionally, players can further increase the chances of seeing a Torpor Sac drop by using Impact-based weapons (or ranged weapons) to attack the Great Baggi's head. Doing so enough will cause the beast's head to "break," rewarding players with an additional 20% chance at gaining a Torpor Sac when it's all over.

The Great Baggi can be found in the Frost Islands. Players that are looking to farm all the necessary Torpor Sacs for armors and weapon upgrades will need to hunt enough of the sleep-inducing creature to amass 37 total Torpor Sacs. Those that spend additional time harvesting the Great Baggi can use Fire Element-based weapons (as well as Water and Thunder) for extra damage.

Although the Great Baggi isn't a particularly threatening monster compared to the other creatures in Monster Hunter: Sunbreak, it can still prove to be a challenge for inexperienced players. The biggest issue when fighting a Great Baggi is avoiding the sedative it spits, which can cause players to become groggy, effectively stunning them and leaving them open to attack. Energy Drinks can help combat this mechanic, so players should stock up on some before pursuing the Great Baggi. The monster also calls other, smaller Baggi to join the fight. These lesser monsters can become overwhelming, so players should be sure to take care of them before attempting to take out the main threat.
