Monster Hunter Rise is an endless quest to defeat monsters, attain materials, use those materials to create better equipment, and then use that new equipment to defeat even tougher monsters. Early on materials are fairly easy to acquire, but some late game items such as the Apex Curlhorn can cause some major headaches for hunters that aren't armed with knowledge and strong enough gear. The Apex Curlhorn is used to craft the powerful Rampage weapons. These are by no means the strongest weapons in Monster Hunter, but they're certainly no pushover. Players wanting to craft them will need to collect quite a few Apex Curlhorns first.
As with most materials in Monster Hunter Rise, Apex Curlhorns can be obtained by hunting monsters. The trouble comes from knowing both which monster to hunt and at what rank. Furthermore, completing specific actions will also increase the likelihood of players receiving Apex Curlhorns.
How To Get Apex Curlhorn
To get Apex Curlhorns, players need to hunt the fearsome Apex Diablos. This iconic and terrifying creature will prove challenging for even the most experienced of hunters, and to make matters worse, the drop rate for the Apex Curlhorn is rather low. For simply completing a quest in which Apex Diablos was a target, players will have a 5% chance of getting an Apex Curlhorn. Each time the player carves a slain Apex Diablos there's another 7% chance to get an Apex Curlhorn. If these odds are looking slim, there is a way to guarantee at least one Apex Curlhorn drop per hunt.
If hunters manage to break both of the Apex Diablos' horns, they are guaranteed to receive one Apex Curlhorn as a break reward once the quest is completed. Each Rampage weapon path uses one or two Apex Curlhorns, so at most players would only have to achieve this twice to fully upgrade one Rampage weapon. Apex Diablos can be found in Rampage Quests or in the 7-star quest called "The Devastating Apex Diablos." This quest can be unlocked by reaching HR 100, defeating an Apex Diablos in a Rampage Quest, and clearing the Urgent Quest "The Crimson Glow."
Getting a rare item in Monster Hunter Rise like the Apex Curlhorns is no easy task, but the reward is powerful and versatile weapons in the form of the Rampage weapons. Whether players want to use them as their primary weapon or simply want to add them to their collection, Apex Diablos will be the primary obstacle that they must face.
