Assuming Monster Hunter Wilds players have already completed Kanya's Seeking the Goldenfish quest, they'll unlock their third fishing-themed side mission after wrapping up the New Ecosystems segment at the start of Chapter 4. Upon doing so, they'll be able to trigger Fishing for Flavor by speaking with Kanya at the Scarlet Forest base camp.

Where to Find a Gravid Bowfin in Monster Hunter Wilds (Gravid Bowfin Location)
Players won't have to travel too far to find a Gravid Bowfin, as they can be found in the small body of water right next to Kanya. They're orangey-brown in color and can usually be found swimming around at the far end of the cave. If players can't see one, they can just fast travel back to the Scarlet Forest base camp a few times or rest at the hunter's tent until one shows up.
How to Catch a Gravid Bowfin in Monster Hunter Wilds
To catch a Gravid Bowfin, players should use the Emerald Jitterbait lure. As the name of the lure suggests, the best way to attract fish with it is to jiggle the lure around a little, so players should wiggle their line back and forth until the fish becomes interested and decides to take a nibble. As soon as it does, they can reel in their line and catch themselves a Gravid Bowfin just as Kanya requested.
Fishing for Flavor Rewards
Once they've managed to catch a Gravid Bowfin, players should make the short trip back to Kanya and show her their catch. After a short conversation, they'll be rewarded with three 
Jeweled Mullet Roe and five 
Honey for their efforts. They'll also get 100 Guild Points, which should hopefully go some way towards leveling up to the next Hunter Rank.
