Many of the side quests in Monster Hunter Wilds will have players completing mundane tasks, and the Apple of Her Eye quest from Alma isn't any different. This time, hunters will be helping their favorite handler recover something important: the custom-made glasses given to her by Gemma.
Apple of Her Eye doesn't involve any fighting, but it is very confusing given its vague instructions and lack of quest markers. If you aren't sure what to do and where to go while doing this MH Wilds side quest, here's a short guide to help you out.
How Does Exhaust Work in Monster Hunter Wilds?
Exhaust can be a powerful tool in Monster Hunter Wilds if you know how to exploit it.
Apple of Her Eye Walkthrough
Once you begin this quest after speaking with Alma, she'll tell you that she last saw her glasses in the Scarlet Forest, claiming that she might have lost it while investigating in the region. To help figure out where she might have dropped them, head to the Wudwud Hideout and start asking around.
Travel to the hideout, then speak to Thunk, the Wudwud standing by the main entrance. He'll tell you that they usually pick up lost items and other treasures by the river. After the conversation, a quest marker will appear in the river in Area 1, just outside the Scarlet Forest Base Camp.
Speak with the Wudwuds in the river, and you'll eventually find one that's wearing Alma's glasses. However, it will scurry away before you can get the chance to interact with it.
Getting Alma's Glasses (Ayejack Location)
Once you're back at the hideout, speak with Thunk again, and he'll tell you to go upstairs to the feast. Talk to the Wudwuds there, and they'll tell you that Ayejack, the one that has Alma's glasses, is already resting.
To find Ayejack, go back to the first floor where you can find Plumpeach, one of the Material Gathering NPCs, then look for the spot with the big cauldron. You'll find Ayejack sleeping in a hanging cocoon made of leaves.
Ayejack won't just give the glasses up, though. In true Wudwud spirit, he'll ask you to trade for it. You'll need to give him some
Eastern Honey if you want the glasses, so make sure you have some in your Item Box.
If Ayejack isn't sleeping in his leaf cocoon, he might be roaming around the hideout.
Once you retrieve Alma's glasses, you'll be able to change which glasses she wears, much like how you can customize your hunter's equipment appearance. You can do this by going to any tent and navigating to the final tab to the right, which contains all the appearance-related options.
