  • Monopoly GO warns players of permanent bans for breaking Terms of Service during the Jedi Partner Event.
  • Players have exploited a glitch to progress in the event faster, risking bans from developer Scopely.
  • Scopely patched the glitch, but players have expressed dissatisfaction with the difficulty of the event's milestones.

Monopoly GO released a warning to players that their accounts could be permanently banned if they break the game's Terms of Service. This came during the height of Monopoly GO's Jedi Partner Event, which was released on May 27, where players could spend event tokens and get rewards in order to complete their Partner Builds.

Monopoly GO's latest Jedi Partner Event is the follow-up of Star Wars Partners from early May, which features iconic characters like Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca. Just like previous Partner Events, players have to work together to roll dice and spin a special wheel in order to earn rewards until they can reach the Grand Prize. Meanwhile, many have also said that Partner Events such as this can be challenging, forcing players to spend money to get the upper hand. This is why Monopoly GO players also took advantage of a glitch that made it easier to hit milestones faster.

Following this, Monopoly GO sent out a warning to multiple players that their accounts could be at risk of being permanently banned if they exploited any of the game's features. Many of them believe that it's because of the Jedi Partner Event glitch, which players have used to hack wheel spins. On social media, a good number of Monopoly GO fans seemed unapologetic about benefiting from the glitch, while others accused developer Scopely of allegedly causing the issue in the first place.

What Happens When Monopoly GO Bans Players?

When Monopoly GO players get banned, they're redirected to a website page explaining the disciplinary action. According to the site, a ban means the permanent removal of players' access to the game, whereas a suspension is temporary. This can happen when a player exploits a game's features, cheats, and uses third-party software to modify or hack the gameplay, among other reasons. Scopely also emphasized that players cannot appeal a ban or suspension, and that such decisions are made after a careful review of players' actions.

Scopely has since patched the Monopoly GO glitch since players said they can't abuse the glitch in the Jedi Partner Event anymore. However, many players were dissatisfied with how difficult it was to complete the milestones in the event. It's similar to the negative reception to Monopoly GO's Treasure Dig event in 2024, which was reportedly stingy about giving pickaxes to players.

Monopoly GO players still have a couple of days left to play the Jedi Partner Event and get all the rewards until it ends on June 1. If they're lucky enough, they can add Monopoly GO's limited-edition Darth Maul Token to their collection.
