Monopoly, a timeless classic, has evolved with the arrival of Monopoly GO in April 2023. This mobile game brings the traditional board game experience to smartphones, combining the charm of the classic Monopoly with the convenience of smartphones- quick, easy, and accessible.
Unfortunately, Monopoly GO is only available on smartphones and can’t be played on PCs, which might disappoint PC users eager to join the digital fun. But don't worry! This guide explains how you can still play Monopoly GO on a PC.
Monopoly GO: Today’s Event Schedule
Here's a breakdown of all the events happening today in Monopoly GO to help you make the most of your playtime.
How To Play Monopoly GO on a PC
There is no word on if Scopely is developing a PC version of Monopoly GO yet, but there are ways to get around this little constraint.
For apps that do not have a PC version, emulators are the best solution. Bluestacks is an Android emulator that can help you bring Monopoly GO to your PC. Here’s what players need to do:
- Download Bluestacks on your PC. For this purpose, open the Bluestacks website on your web browser. There will be a button that reads, “Download Bluestacks.” Tapping on the button will likely start the download. Save and run the file, after which Bluestacks will be fully operable.
- Once Bluestacks is successfully downloaded, launch the program and navigate to the search box.
- In the “search for games and apps” box, type in Monopoly GO.
- Tap on the store icon that pops up. Doing so will take you to the Play Store.
- Next, players should log in to their Google accounts if it isn’t already logged in, and then install the Monopoly GO app. If you don’t have an account, you can create one.
- The installation process is similar to the Play Store. When Monopoly GO is installed, its icon will be visible on the Bluestacks desktop. And that is how one can install and play Monopoly Go on a PC.
Some Important Things to Keep in Mind
Since the developers don't officially support a PC version of Monopoly GO, using an emulator is a roundabout way of accessing the game on a PC. Therefore, the app may crash sometimes, and there’s little anyone can do about it.
However, it’s important to note that apps and games can also crash when there isn’t enough disk space on the computer. Emulators usually need around two GB of free disk space to run smoothly. If the emulator doesn’t start or the game crashes too frequently, users should check their disk capacity and free up some space accordingly.
