Monopoly GO players are getting free tokens as compensation for some of the game's recent technical issues, including some that prevented players from receiving tokens as rewards. These issues appear to have primarily affected the Spider Gwen and Nick Fury tokens from the Marvel GO album during the previous Monopoly GO season.
From September 26 to December 5, Monopoly GO players were able to complete various superhero-themed sticker sets in the Marvel GO album to earn rewards like cash, dice rolls, emojis, and shields. Stickers are typically obtained in solo events and tournaments, along with the completion of Quick Wins tasks and opening of community chests. Players were also able to obtain Marvel GO tokens by participating in limited-time events, such as the Asgardian Treasure Hunt. Unfortunately, some players weren't able to receive their hard-earned tokens, including Monopoly GO's Nick Fury token, due to technical issues that prevented them from being awarded. To mitigate this problem, the Monopoly GO developers have begun to give away tokens that players may have missed out on.

On the official Monopoly GO Discord server, Jose Scopely shared an update with players to acknowledge the issues with players being unable to receive Spider Gwen and Nick Fury tokens as rewards. Noting that it was an error on the team's part, the developers are giving away alternative Marvel tokens to all players who experienced issues obtaining a Spider Gwen or Nick Fury token. The token will be delivered directly to player inboxes in Monopoly GO, so players are encouraged to log in and claim their reward promptly. Those who already own all Marvel tokens will receive a one-time compensation of dice rolls in Monopoly GO instead.
Monopoly GO is Giving Away Free Apology Tokens for Marvel GO Album's Technical Issues

The free apology tokens definitively close the chapter on Monopoly GO's Marvel GO album. The new Jingle Joy album will be available until January 16, so players have a little over a month to collect all sticker sets and claim all their rewards. Specifically, players earn 10,000 rolls, a Santa token, and cash for completing the festive album. Additional rewards may be earned by working with the community in the new Team Adventures event.
