Season 4 of Call of Duty: Warzone is here, and the official change notes have arrived. There is a lot be happy about, especially since this is Season 4 for COD: Modern Warfare as well. While Modern Warfare have One in the Chamber to look forward to eventually, Warzone players have several bug fixes to cheer about.
Bugs and glitches have plagued Call of Duty: Warzone since its release, and have showed no signs of slowing. The advent of Season 4 cleans up several of these, with a few in particular standing out.
There have been several glitches centered around the Gulag over the game's run. One notable glitch made the whole Gulag disappear. Another strange exploit kept proximity mines around after the player who set them was defeated. Yet another Gulag glitch killed both players at basically the same time, ensuring no one was freed. The bug fix notes for Season 4 mention none of these, but do mention it will fix a bug that allows players to drop their weapons inside the Gulag.
The main problem with this glitch is not actually that it puts the dropper at a disadvantage. Instead, it allows the next player in the Gulag to pick up the dropped weapon. This gives a serious advantage to the new combatant, who has two weapons to choose from for their fight. Such an advantage could allow a player to have a better gun matchup instead of relying on Warzone's unbalanced melee damage.
Of course ther are other fixes outside the Gulag, and some of them are badly needed. A glitch that allowed UAVs to be duplicated is gone, as is one that allowed the benefits of Quick Fix without the perk equipped. Players are no longer be able to duplicate self-revive kits. There is also a fix for an issue preventing players from performing executions due to slightly different elevation. This may or may not fix the elevation glitch getting players stuck, but no mention was made of it specifically.
Obviously not all the problems, bugs, and glitches have been addressed with this patch. There will have to be more patch fixes in the future to keep the game stable. Out of all the things players want to see in Warzone, it is safe to say that a stable game experience is pretty high on the list. The complete list of Warzone specific changes can be found here:
