Modern Warfare 3's CODMAS event, Santa’s Slayground, tasks players with completing various challenges in the Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone modes. From the Zombie Santa Boss fight to Deck the Halls, there are several holiday-themed missions for players to complete to earn high-quality loot, operator skins, killstreaks, and more.

One such challenge is Snow Fight LTM in Warzone, which requires you to get 25 Zombie kills using snowballs. While the challenge is pretty straightforward, using Snowballs to take down hordes of the undead can be challenging. Here’s a guide on how to get and use this lethal projectile to defeat Zombies.

What Are Snowballs in MW3 Zombies?

Snowballs are a lethal projectile with the power to kill Zombies when thrown. However, unlike the Aether Blade or Throwing Star, which can one-shot Zombies, this projectile only causes a small amount of damage. To take down a Zombie using a Snowball, you may need to throw about five balls.

In Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, Snowballs are scattered across the map in blue coolers. Many are found in Strongholds and Legacy Fortresses, so you may have to clear these safe houses first to obtain Snowballs. You can also view Snowball locations on your tac map, marked by a snowflake icon. Once you find and pick a Snowball, you get 10 charges, and they replace your lethal equipment. It’s important to note that you cannot store more than 10 Snowballs in your backpack. If you run out, you have to get more by looting caches.

To use Snowballs in MW3 Zombies, throw them at the zombie, knocking it down on its knees and decreasing its health. Since Snowballs cause minor damage, you must throw more than one at the zombie to defeat it (5 to be precise). With only 10 Snowball charges in your stash, throwing 5 depletes half of it, meaning you can get 2 guaranteed kills if all your throws hit the Zombie. Killing 25 Zombies with Snowballs to complete the CODMAS challenge will require a lot of grinding, but the rewards are worthwhile.

Alternatively, there’s a special Snowball called the Golden Snowball that guarantees a one-hit kill. You can find this at the center of Shipmas and Hangover maps, but only one spawns in a round. Players get a single charge with the Golden Snowball, not 10 like the traditional Snowball. Once you throw a Snowball, you can’t pick it back up. You have to go back to a loot cache to get more Snowballs.
