Call of Duty Season 1 is underway, and fans are excited as the update is packed to the brim with content. This includes two new multiplayer Killstreaks available at the start of the season. Killstreaks allow players to gain special benefits without dying when they go on a killing spree, so unlocking them is essential to assert dominance on the battlefield.
One of the two Killstreaks in MW3 and Warzone Season 1 is the classic EMP Killstreak. This Killstreak was first introduced to Call of Duty in the original Modern Warfare 2 and has only appeared in Black Ops and MW3 since. Here’s everything players need to know about the Killstreak in Season 1, including how to get it.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - How to Get Multikills
There's a bit of confusion among new players around what multikills are in Modern Warfare 3. Here's what they are and how to get them.
What is the EMP Killstreak?
The EMP Killstreak is an electromagnetic pulse that, when deployed, disrupts enemy gadgets, equipment, and Killstreaks. The EMP helps deal with UAVs and makes it easier for players to roll through their most expensive streaks without opponents gunning them down.
It also comes in handy in objective-based modes by deterring equipment enemies throw down to deter other players from specific areas. The EMP Killstreak is the perfect weapon to render enemy gadgets ineffective, ensuring they can’t use them for a certain period.
How to Get the EMP Killstreak in Warzone and MW3 Season 1
To unlock the EMP Killstreak in Season 1, players must complete an Armory Challenge. COD developers have yet to reveal the Armory Challenges for Season 1, but we will update this article once they do. Once unlocked, players can equip the Killstreak before dropping into a match. However, to call it in, players must get 13 kills or earn 1,625 points. After calling the EMP in, it will deploy an electromagnetic surge that disrupts enemy equipment, gadgets, and killstreaks.
Armory Unlocks are a new weapon progression system in Modern Warfare 3 for some of the best guns and equipment, including Killstreaks. With Armory Unlocks, players must reach level 25 to complete daily challenges and unlock specific gear. These challenges range from taking down Operators without dying to getting kills with the Tac Stance.
Once players complete these daily challenges, they unlock the weapon, attachment, or Killstreak tied to the challenge. Call of Duty introduced this new system to limit how quickly players get access to powerful gear and equipment.
