The best ballgame in the video game ballpark, MLB The Show, saw its annual iteration drop to favorable reviews in mid-March. Now, a little over a month later, you can get MLB The Show 25 on sale for $20 off its original release price.
You can find the deal over at Amazon, where all three console iterations are currently at a discount. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game are down 29% to $50. MLB The Show 25 - Another Solid At Bat
Annualized sports franchises tend to offer little in innovation due to their short development cycles (we're looking at you, Madden). However, MLB The Show continues to come to the plate with solid at-bats year after year. Our MLB The Show 25 review gave it significant praise, stating "most everything here is great and will give baseball fans their money's worth and then some."
One of the coolest new additions to the game this year is the ability to start your player's career from the high school level. From there, you can graduate to eight of the more powerhouse baseball colleges across the country. Do the best you can in developing your player, and you'll find your character taken highly in the MLB Draft.
Diamond Dynasty introduced Diamond Quest this year. It's a new board game-like risk and reward system that provides a new way to build franchises. There's Weekend Classic, which allows for multiplayer games to engage in high-stakes match-ups. And franchise mode has increased realism that makes Free Agency, trades, and the off-season much more authentic to the actual league.
MLB The Show 25 has also incorporated a bunch of new Legends, bringing the total up to over 200 in the game, with new additions including Ted Williams, Roger Clemens, and Manny Ramirez. And this year's big narrative mode is Storylines: The Negro Leagues – Season 3, which continues to showcase this incredibly important aspect of Major League Baseball history.
MLB The Show Is Not On Xbox Game Pass This Year
If you're into The Show series like I am, but don't have it in your budget for an annual purchase, it was fantastic to find the game on Xbox Game Pass the last few years. Especially when the game is published annually by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Unfortunately, this year's The Show 25 is not on Game Pass this year. (Yet.)
Game Pass owners were able to enjoy the game for free as part of the subscription service since MLB The Show 21. The Show 22 and The Show 23 followed suit. Now, the good old Game Pass days are apparently gone. Which makes the current MLB The Show 25 sale an even bigger deal to consider.
The current MLB The Show 25 offers on Amazon are listed as limited-time deals. Don't wait and strike out looking at this offer. Catch this great baseball game for your PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, or Xbox Series X today.
