Much like its predecessor, Mortal Kombat 1 features a plethora of DLC characters, the first eleven of whom were made available as part of Kombat Pack 1. Kombat Pack 2 will welcome six more playable characters, although not all of these new Kombatants will be accessible right away.
Mortal Kombat 1: How to Use DLC Characters When Servers Are Offline
A quick and easy method that allows Mortal Kombat 1 players to use their DLC characters even when the game's servers are offline for maintenance.
Naturally, many players are keen to learn when exactly these MK1 DLC characters will be released, though, sadly, this information isn't quite as readily available as some would have liked. As of the time of writing, NetherRealm has only provided a partial Kombat Pack 2 release schedule, with fans left to wonder when the other three DLC characters will be made available.
Updated February 24, 2025, by Tom Bowen: The release date for the last of the MK1 DLC characters has now been unveiled, and with it came a big surprise. In addition to gaining access to the T-1000 on March 18, Kombat Pack 2 owners will also be treated to the Madam Bo Kameo. As tends to be the case with downloadable fighters for Mortal Kombat 1, both characters will be available to purchase separately at a later date.
Playable MK1 DLC Kombatants are usually released straight after server maintenance, which typically begins at 7 AM Pacific and lasts for around one hour.

Kombat Pack 2 Character Origins
Much like the previous Kombat Pack, Kombat Pack 2 features three returning Mortal Kombat Kombatants and three guest characters. Sektor and Cyrax made their debuts in Mortal Kombat 3 and both appear as Kameos in the base roster of Mortal Kombat 1. Noob Saibot made his first appearance as a palette swap in Mortal Kombat 2, but has since gone on to become a fully fleshed-out character in his own right, not to mention something of a fan favorite.
As for the guest fighters, Conan the Barbarian was created by the American author Robert E. Howard, although he's arguably best known for the movie adaptations in which Arnold Schwarzenegger played the titular role. The T-1000 is another Kombat Pack 2 guest fighter that was popularized by one of Arnie's flicks, with Robert Patrick playing the character in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Last but not least is Ghostface, the killer in the popular horror movie franchise Scream.
MK1 DLC Character Release Schedule (Kombat Pack 1)
There were six playable Kombatants available as part of Kombat Pack 1, all of whom were released between winter 2023 and the summer of 2024. Those who purchased Kombat Pack 1 separately or the Deluxe Edition of Mortal Kombat 1 gained access to them one week earlier than everybody else and also paid a little less than the combined cost of purchasing every Kombat Pack character separately.

MK1 DLC Kameo Fighter Release Schedule (Kombat Pack 1)
In addition to the six playable MK1 DLC characters listed above, Kombat Pack 1 also included five kameo fighters. NetherRealm opted to release these in between playable Kombatants to help tide the fanbase over while they waited. Tremor and Khameleon were the first two to be released, with Janet Cage, Mavado, and Ferra all arriving in the months that followed.

How to Unlock MK1 DLC Characters
Just because players have purchased the Kombat Pack, that doesn't mean that they'll be able to start using their Mortal Kombat 1 DLC characters right away. Before they can do so, they'll first need to head to the game's store page (either in-game or via their console's digital storefront) and purchase the character from there. Assuming they have the Kombat Pack installed, this purchase will be free, making this more of an annoying final step than anything else.
Kombat Pack 1 Character Origins
Some players may be keen to learn where all of the MK1 DLC characters originate from, as there are a handful of guest characters included in Kombat Pack 1. Omni-Man (or Nolan Grayson, as he's also known) is part of the Image Comics universe and is best known for his role in Invincible, in which he serves as the titular character's father. Peacemaker is also a comic book character and is portrayed by John Cena in the DC cinematic universe. The final MK1 guest character is Homelander; yet another comic book character, only this time, from The Boys.

Q: What time are MK1 DLC characters usually released?
