Countless fans of Minecraft have left their marks upon their virtual sandbox worlds by building gigantic creations, and one player has shown off an impressive build of their own which features a huge pyramid that serves as both a landmark and a functional base. Pyramids are just one of the many common forms that megabases take in Minecraft, with some of the earliest versions of the sandbox game even including the fabled "brick pyramid" as a naturally generated structure.

Though the brick pyramid harkens back to an age of Minecraft that many fans today never got to see for themselves, it was actually one of the first naturally occurring structures to exist within the game's code. This prototype structure provided the foundation for the plethora of generated structures that exist in the game today, from the humble villages to the expansive and sinister ancient cities. Some such structures also include the desert temples, which appear to take direct inspiration from the real-world pyramids and their purpose to some extent. These iconic real-world landmarks have influenced countless similar creations within the realm of gaming, not least some of the impressive creations that Minecraft fans have built over the years.

Though builds of this nature have undoubtedly been brought to life by Minecraft fans since the game's alpha days, one player's truly massive-scale pyramid has caught the attention of many in the Minecraft community. The player behind the build is known as Key-Pangolin9592 on Reddit, who shared a video featuring the completion of their project in a post on the site. The clip shows them placing the last few blocks on the structure alongside some of their friends who share the multiplayer Minecraft world that the build was achieved within. The ambitious pyramid stretches across a 200x200-block area of desert land, doubling as a landmark as well as a functional base housing a huge volume of space.

While the player responsible for assembling nearly the entirety of the structure is so far undecided on how they'll use the interior space, many interested players have suggested a number of uses, including the housing of a fully functional item sorter and the construction of a large-scale PvP battlefield. Many in the Minecraft community have created mega bases of their own, with such projects becoming an increasingly-popular trend among fans.

With building of course being one of the core gameplay elements in Minecraft, it's not uncommon to see fans giving new forms to their imaginations even over a decade after the game's official release. Mojang is continuing to nurture the creative potential within the game's community through the release of new content in major updates, with Minecraft's most recent Trails and Tales update taking a particular focus on creativity and self-expression.

Minecraft is available on mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and most legacy platforms.
