A creative Minecraft player recently built a huge potato farm, crashing the game while trying to harvest all the produce simultaneously. Minecraft is an excellent choice for more creative players, and this gamer managed to achieve a hilarious and amazing feat with their absurd build.
Originally unveiled in its beta phase in 2009, Minecraft quickly became a massive hit with gamers both young and old. Minecraft combines a sandbox approach with in-depth building mechanics, which allow gamers to explore and change the world as they see fit. Due to Minecraft’s almost infinite replayability, the title managed to sell over 300 million copies by 2023, becoming the best-selling video game of all time.
Minecraft Creator Reveals Fan Favorite Feature Wasn't Originally Going to Be in the Game
Minecraft's original creator, Markus 'Notch' Persson, reveals that a fan-favorite feature was almost absent from the game's full release.
A Minecraft player recently shared an incredible video they found online, depicting a huge, game-breaking potato farm. In the 25-second clip, it’s possible to see the user descending into a deep pit where a massive farm with hundreds of potato plants is located. When the gamer activates a lever, all the plants spawn the potatoes at once, breaking the game. In the comments of the post, other players explained that this likely happened because Minecraft could not process so many potatoes appearing at the same time. Each plant drops from two to five potatoes, and the lever employed by the player moves every dirt block at the same time, spawning thousands of potatoes and causing Minecraft to stop working.
Minecraft Player Breaks the Game With Huge Potato Farm
While this was an absurdly huge farm, it was far from the largest potato farm in Minecraft. A few months ago, for example, another player shared a farm they made in Survival Mode with 205,876 potato plants. According to the player, they spent 16 in-game days creating this massive locale.
The game's players continuously amaze the community with their ingenuity and hard work, with one Minecraft player spending 3.5 years building their utopia in the game. The creation depicted a stunning futuristic city inside a glass dome, which took 10,000 in-game days in Minecraft’s Survival Mode to complete.
If the community is already capable of devising these amazing creations with the current tools available, their projects are bound to get even wilder after Minecraft’s Bundles of Bravery update. The new patch, which is already available in its pre-release form, will bring several new features to the game, including a new biome, the Pale Garden. This new environment has thick, grey foliage and contains tree-like monsters that can only be found at night.

Minecraft is a game made up of blocks, creatures, and community. You can survive the night or build a work of art – the choice is all yours. But if the thought of exploring a vast new world all on your own feels overwhelming, then fear not!
Minecraft has no set goal and can be played however you’d like! This is why it’s sometimes called a “sandbox game” – there are lots of things for you to do, and lots of ways that you can play. If you like being creative, then you can use the blocks to build things from your imagination. If you’re feeling brave, you can explore the world and face daring challenges. Blocks can be broken, crafted, placed to reshape the landscape, or used to build fantastical creations.
Creatures can be battled or befriended, depending on how you play. The world of Minecraft allows for epic adventures, quiet meditations, and everything in between. You can even share your creations with other players, or play in community worlds!
