During the latest Minecraft Live event, Mojang revealed a bunch of content coming to Minecraft in the months ahead. While a major highlight was the September 30 release date for The Copper Age, a brand-new game drop for Minecraft was also unveiled, along with a new fishing-themed add-on and Dragon Ball Z collaboration.
Minecraft Live events are among the most anticipated times of the year for Minecraft fans, revealing fresh announcements to look forward to. In fact, Mojang already hosted a Minecraft Live earlier this year. In that presentation, the developer revealed details about the Chase the Skies game drop, Vibrant Visuals update, and more. Now, with the year more than half over, players have received a glimpse of what is to come in the rest of 2025 and beyond.

Minecraft Live Reveals The Copper Age Release Date
- September 30, 2025
As part of Minecraft Live, Mojang revealed September 30 as the release date for The Copper Age, the next game drop for Minecraft. This means the wait to check out the new content in the base game is almost over. The presentation touched on many of the features coming in the update, including the helpful copper golem. This handy mob can help players organize their bases by sorting items in chests. Some other things coming on September 30 include copper tools, weapons, and armor, along with the shelf block. It is worth noting that some of these features from the game drop have been playable via Snapshots and Betas/Previews. However, all players will soon have access to them.
In addition to The Copper Age, Minecraft Live unveiled Mounts of Mayhem, the fourth game drop of 2025. While some of the details are subject to change as Mojang considers fan feedback, the game drop will introduce the nautilus, adding to the growing list of mobs in Minecraft. As the name suggests, this creature lives underwater and can even be ridden. Some perks of using the nautilus as a mount include an underwater speed boost and a preserved air supply. Besides a new mob, the spear is being introduced as a weapon for players to use. According to Mojang, the damage scales based on the player’s speed. The game drop, which is expected to drop this holiday season, will also add the zombie horse and zombie nautilus to Survival mode, among other things.

- Nautilus

- Zombie Horse
- Nautilus Armor
Some of the other news from the presentation included a new add-on that is available from the Minecraft Marketplace. Known as Friendly Fishing, this add-on was created with the help of Conservation International to raise environmental awareness and lets players catch all sorts of fish, including sharks. It should be noted that proceeds from the add-on will go to help the work of Conservation International. Minecraft Live also announced a collaboration with Dragon Ball Z. This DLC is coming to Bedrock later in 2025 and will introduce content from the popular series. However, players can get a free Super Saiyan Hair in the Marketplace right now.
2025 has already been a big year for Minecraf t, and it looks like Mojang has no signs of slowing down. With two more game drops launching before the end of the year, players have a lot more to look forward to.

Minecraft is a game made up of blocks, creatures, and community. You can survive the night or build a work of art – the choice is all yours. But if the thought of exploring a vast new world all on your own feels overwhelming, then fear not!
Minecraft has no set goal and can be played however you’d like! This is why it’s sometimes called a “sandbox game” – there are lots of things for you to do, and lots of ways that you can play. If you like being creative, then you can use the blocks to build things from your imagination. If you’re feeling brave, you can explore the world and face daring challenges. Blocks can be broken, crafted, placed to reshape the landscape, or used to build fantastical creations.
Creatures can be battled or befriended, depending on how you play. The world of Minecraft allows for epic adventures, quiet meditations, and everything in between. You can even share your creations with other players, or play in community worlds!
