The world of Minecraft is teeming with many different mobs that you will meet as you make your way through the game. Some mobs are dangerous, and others can help players in battles.
Talking about the friendly ones, Axolotls are aquatic mobs that can help you fight underwater enemies. This mob has five colors, with the Blue Axolotl being the rarest one. Expectedly then, finding it is no easy feat. If you don’t know how to get Blue Axolotl in Minecraft, this guide is here to help.
Minecraft: How to Get (& Use) Grindstone
Players will need a Grindstone to repair and disenchant their weapons in Minecraft. Here's how you can get it.
How to Get Blue Axolotl in Minecraft
Unlike the other four types, the Blue Axolotl can only be acquired by breeding. Here are the items you’ll need for it:
- 2 x Axolotl
- 2 x Tropical Fish
- 1 x Breeding Pool.
How to Find Axolotl in Minecraft
To start the breeding process, fans will need to catch two Axolotls. They can be any color, like pink, brown, gold, or cyan, and you can find them in the Lush Caves biome. Axolotls are native to this floral biome and you can pick them up using a bucket.
How to Catch Tropical Fish in Minecraft
Tropical Fish are common sea creatures found in different Minecraft biomes. You can find them in these places:
- Mangrove Swamp
- Lukewarm Ocean
- Deep Lukewarm Ocean
- Warm Ocean
- Lush Caves.
Minecrafters will need to use a boat to explore the waters in these areas. And yes, make sure you have buckets in your inventory, as you'll need two buckets of Tropical Fish to feed Axolotls during their breeding.
How to Build a Breeding Pool in Minecraft
Finally, Minecrafters should have a Breeding Pool where they can put their Axolotl to multiply quickly. For this purpose, place water source blocks on land and then build walls around the pool. While building the pool for your little friends, make sure that the walls are one block higher than the water's surface.
If you don’t make this one-block-high wall, Axolotls might escape into nearby oceans or water bodies. Furthermore, it would be a good idea to build your pool near a place where Tropical Fish are easily available. This way, players will be able to quickly feed the fish to the Axolotls without wasting time.
Once your pool is ready, simply place the Axolotls inside and add the buckets of Tropical Fish. The chance of getting a Blue Axolotl is still pretty low, but you can keep breeding more Axolotls to increase your chances of getting one.
Minecrafters can also use the /summon axolotl ~ ~ ~ {Variant:4} command to get Blue Axolotls without breeding.
