Firaxis Game has announced the release date for the Midnight Suns DLC character Deadpool. The Season Pass for Midnight Suns has several characters coming to the tactical-RPG in 2023, including Morbius, Storm, and Venom. Deadpool is arriving first, though, and Firaxis has shown that it's more than willing to embrace the anti-hero's chimichanga and fourth-wall-breaking memes. Midnight Suns players won't have to wait much longer to play with Deadpool, either.

Midnight Suns officially launched on December 2, 2022. Firaxis' Marvel take on XCOM is packed full of superheroes and villains. Characters including Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain America, and many more fill out the game's playable character roster. Each character features unique abilities, allowing players to choose team compositions that synergize -- or just look really cool. Midnight Suns' design seems very intentionally designed for character additions through DLC.

Deadpool will be officially joining the Midnight Suns roster starting on January 26. He'll be included in what Firaxis has named The Good, The Bad, and The Undead DLC. Deadpool will feature 10 unique Hero abilities, like the other members of the Midnight Suns roster, as well as a variety of cosmetic options, and even a new Abbey Upgrade. Firaxis will be making sure that Deadpool isn't just a rushed bit of DLC to capitalize on a popular Marvel character.

As part of The Good, The Bad, and The Undead DLC, Deadpool will be released alongside a hearty amount of new story missions, too. What the new story missions entail, Midnight Suns players will have to discover for themselves. The Deadpool DLC trailer does offer some hints regarding what will be offered, though. Expect Hydra to be up to its usual evil shenanigans, and lots of vampires to defeat.

The Season Pass for Midnight Suns is just getting started, of course. DLC 2 will focus on Spider-Man villain Venom, who has already been featured prominently in Midnight Suns' story. DLC 3 will be Morbius, the Marvel meme king. Unfortunately, Jared Leto is unlikely to voice. DLC four will then be Storm. A release schedule hasn't been confirmed, but the remaining DLC is planned for 2023.

Being so close to launch, it's unclear whether Midnight Suns has proven to be a success in the eyes of publisher 2K. That could mean that this Season Pass will be the full extent of DLC for Midnight Suns, as fun as it might be for a second Season Pass to be announced. Expect 2K and Firaxis to share details regarding the future of Midnight Suns throughout 2023.

Midnight Suns is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X with PS4, Switch, and Xbox One versions also in development.
