Following today's official reveal of Middle-earth: Shadow of War by way of an announcement trailer, video game publisher Warner Bros. Interactive has now officially declared its intentions to release a special package for its forthcoming game inspired by The Lord of the Rings franchise called the Mithril Edition, and it's set to cost a whopping $300. This news comes shortly after fans of the series learned over the weekend by way of a leak from Target that there definitely will be a sequel, and it will get another special iteration called the Gold Edition priced at $100.

In addition to the Gold Edition and aforementioned statue, the full list of Middle-earth: Shadow of War's Mithril Edition shows that it contains a bevy of goodies, such as a premium case with a magnetic Ring of Power, an exclusive Mithril War Chest, the game's official music soundtrack, a cloth map of Mordor, a collection of exclusive lithographs, a Tribe sticker pack, as well as a collector's box. While this is definitely a sizeable special edition, it will be interesting to see if Shadow of War fans consider all of the wares to be worth $300 and go on to purchase the package.

For those unaware, the Gold Edition included within Middle-earth: Shadow of War's Mithril Edition will offer up the base game, and various pieces of DLC, including some story expansions the developer plans to be add later on down the line. Interestingly enough, though, it seems as if console fans might be the only ones able to get the Mithril Edition at the moment, for there has been no listing related to a PC version for the special package as of yet.

Taking all of this into consideration, while Middle-earth: Shadow of War definitely will have plenty to offer in the way of content outside of the game with the Mithril Edition, the game itself has some big shoes to fill, as its predecessor, Shadow of Mordor, was considered to be one of the best games of 2014. Of course, since Shadow of War takes place in between both The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Rings just like the franchise's previous entry, the forthcoming game stands a chance at being another great literary game that further expands the book world of J. R. R. Tolkien's fantasy realm.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War is set to launch on August 22, 2017 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows 10 PC.
