Every time you take your quartet of cats into battle and emerge victorious in Mewgenics, one of your cats will be randomly selected to level up. This not only raises their stats, but also offers up a selection of abilities to choose from to unlock for that particular cat. These are typically linked to their class (collar), though some are more general abilities that all cats can learn regardless. In most cases, you'll find an ability that you're happy to stick with from the original selection, but if you're not, you might be wondering how to reroll level up abilities and options in Mewgenics.
How to Cure Injuries in Mewgenics
As your cats fall in battle they'll get injured and their stats can be impacted as a result. Here's how to cure injuries in Mewgenics.
The abilities that your cats have and learn from leveling up play a huge part in determining your success in combat. Ideally, you want to make sure that you're choosing abilities that complement those that particular cat has, as well as others in their team. For example, an ability that freezes enemies is a great option to combine with the Shatter ability, which insta-kills standard frozen enemies, or deals significant damage to frozen bosses. Giving a cat with high mana and mobility means they can get around the map easily and clear out enemies with relative ease.
How to Reroll in Mewgenics
You can reroll any level up options you get for a cat by finding and equipping different items such as the Furry Dice, D6, and Chaos Controller. There are also some reroll options available once you've unlocked the Jester collar, which we've explained in further detail below.
Equipping Items to Get More Rerolls
The Furry Dice go in the neck armor slot, while the D6 goes in the trinket slot for your cat. The Furry Dice allows you to reroll your options whenever you level up with that one particular cat, and also grants an additional +1 to the cat's Luck stat. Luck determines the base critical chance and all randomness elements in the game, so it certainly doesn't hurt to have an improved stat here, too.
The D6 item levels your cat up when it's equipped and also allows you to reroll level up options twice. In my experience playing, I've found these items through chance encounters during a run, as rewards for winning a battle, and available to buy from Lucy's shop.
Finally, Dr. Beanies will reward you with the Chaos Controller upon completing some of his invention quests. This can also be equipped and allows you to reroll your level up options three times. It also comes with the bonus of making abilities from all collar classes available to your cat regardless of their current class.
Keep in mind that these items will take up precious space in your inventory when they're not equipped to a cat, so make sure you're increasing your inventory space whenever you can.
You can combine the Furry Dice and D6 items to give yourself three rerolls.
Getting Rerolls from the Jester Class
When you unlock the Jester class from beating Act 3, you'll have already unlocked the passive abilities of each class. For the Jester, this passive grants you the option to reroll your level up options twice. Like the Chaos Controller, it also makes all class abilities available, meaning you can make a real hybrid class cat.
There is also a set of Jester gear that, when fully equipped grants you an additional three rerolls. The Jester cap itself will grant you an additional point to your Charisma stat, and makes abilities from all classes available once you've rerolled. Some parts of the Jester gear set can be obtained before unlocking the Jester class, while others require you to complete a run with a Jester in your party.
Can You Reroll Cats Stats in Mewgenics?
Unfortunately, you'll have no control over the stray cats that come sitting outside your house waiting to be brought in, nor can you reroll the kittens that your existing cats give birth to. The stats and abilities that cats are given upon birth (or when they first arrive at your house) have an element of RNG. Kittens can inherit abilities and stats from their parents, but strays appear to be entirely random in what abilities and stats they'll have.
As such, it's highly recommended that you keep your best cats in your house so you can breed them to make powerful kittens, who themselves can then be bred once they've aged up, so you can make even stronger cats.
