After escaping from the derelict space vessel in Metroid Prime Remastered, Samus flies her ship to the nearby Tallon IV. This planet serves as the game's primary setting, and players will encounter many upgrades, enemies, and puzzles as they explore its diverse areas. This walkthrough is here to provide details on exactly which of these areas fans should be targeting after landing on Metroid Prime Remastered's Tallon IV, and it will help them obtain their first two mandatory upgrades.

Metroid Prime Remastered: After Landing on Tallon IV Walkthrough

As soon as players are given control of Metroid Prime Remastered's Samus Aran, it is recommended that they take a moment to scan her Gunship. Fans should then pass through the door that is closest to the ship and scan a Beetle in Canyon Cavern. After passing through this room, players will find themselves in Tallon Canyon, and they should scan a Blastcap in the water as they make their way through. Fans should then enter Transport Tunnel A and scan a Zoomer and one of the Sap Sacs that is on the wall.

Players should now advance into Transport to Chozo Ruins West, scan the terminal, and enter the hologram to ride the elevator.

Chozo Ruins

The Ruins Entrance is the first room that players will encounter upon reaching the Chozo Ruins, and they should scan the Chozo Lore entry above the door on its far side. This door leads into the Main Plaza, and Metroid fans should navigate to the door in its back-left corner. Players should use that door to reach Nursery Access and then scan a Scarab before preceding into Eyon Tunnel.

This tunnel is home to several Eyons, which players should scan and then shoot to force them to temporarily close. Fans can then advance through Eyon Tunnel and enter the Ruined Nursery. Here, players should scan a Chozo Lore entry as well as a War Wasp and a War Wasp Hive before stopping by the Save Station that is situated above the Chozo Lore.

Once this Metroid Prime Remastered save has been made, fans are free to take the unused door in the Ruined Nursery and advance through the North Atrium. Players will then find themselves in the Ruined Gallery, and they should use the platforms on the right side of the room to safely reach the door to Totem Access. Here, fans should take a moment to scan a Plazmite as well as a Tangle Weed on the ground.

Players should now enter the Hive Totem and approach the Missile in the room to initiate a combat encounter with the Hive Mecha. Fans are advised to make scanning this Metroid Prime Remastered boss a priority, and they should also take a moment to scan the Ram War Wasps that are produced by the machine. Indeed, this is the only opportunity that players will have to secure these Log Book entries.

With the entires obtained, players can focus on dispatching the Hive Mecha. To beat this boss, players should simply rotate on the platform, watching carefully for any stationary Ram War Wasps. Once such a Wasp has been located, fans should quickly destroy it with the Power Beam and repeat this process until all the insects are slain. Players should then immediately turn to the Hive Mecha, lock on to its weak spot, and fire.

Destroying one weak spot is not enough to bring down this boss, though, and fans will need to fend off more waves of Ram War Wasps and shoot at more of the Hive Mecha's vulnerabilities before the job is done. Fortunately, none of these actions are extremely difficult to execute, and it should not take long for Metroid Prime Remastered players to defeat the machine and claim their first upgrade: the Missile Launcher.

Once the Missile Launcher has been claimed, players should scan the Blast Shield door that is ahead, hit it with one of Metroid Prime Remastered's Missiles, and then continue forward to collect an Energy Tank. Fans should then backtrack to the Ruined Gallery and use a Missile to bypass the Blast Shield door in its back-right corner. There is a Map Station beyond that door, and players should download the Chozo Ruins' map before continuing to the Main Plaza.

Upon entering the Main Plaza, players should head toward the door leading to the Shrine Entrance. As fans approach this door in Metroid Prime Remastered, they will see a Blast Shield door on their right, which they should use to reach Ruined Shrine Access. The Ruined Shrine is on the other side of that hallway, and players should enter the arena and defeat the Beetles that appear.

As soon as the last Beetle has been dispatched, players will encounter the Plated Beetle, which should immediately be scanned. Fans should then simply lock on to the enemy, wait for it to charge, and then strafe to the left or right as the Plated Beetle comes toward them. Players should now be positioned to shoot at the Plated Beetle's red weak spot, and they can collect Metroid Prime Remastered's Morph Ball upgrade as soon as the insect has been defeated.
