Nightmare is a boss in Metroid Fusion's Sector 5, and players will receive the Gravity Suit upon defeating it. This Power Suit upgrade allows Samus to move freely when in water, and fans will use it in order to reach the next areas of the game. For those players that may be stuck as they attempt to navigate through those next areas, this walkthrough details exactly where to go after beating Nightmare and obtaining the Gravity Suit in Metroid Fusion.

Metroid Fusion: After Nightmare Walkthrough

After beating Nightmare in Metroid Fusion, players should make their way to the right side of Nightmare's room and begin running to the left. Starting from that position will allow fans to activate Speed Booster and break through the wall in the next corridor, and they should continue to the left and drop into the water beyond it. Players should then use the door on their right, make their way to the bottom of the next room, and then pass through the door on the left.

Players will now find themselves in a narrow vertical room, and they should use Space Jump to reach and grab a ledge on the right. Fans should then fire a Missile in Metroid Fusion at the wall to the left to reveal a hole that can be entered with the Morph Ball ability. This ability must then be used to traverse a small maze and obtain an Energy Tank.

Players should now make their way back to the narrow vertical room, use the door in its bottom-right corner, and clear all the enemies on the bottom of the next room. This will give fans enough space to activate Speed Booster and break through two walls in the room to the right. Notably, Metroid Fusion players can perform a Shinespark between those two walls to access a small alcove that is home to a Power Bomb Tank.

Fans should now continue to the right and enter Sector 4, activating Speed Booster along the way. Not long after reaching Sector 4, players will encounter a gap, and they should jump just before falling to break through a wall that blocks a door. Metroid fans should pass through that door and then use the door that is straight ahead to reach a Save Station.

Once a save has been made, players should exit the Save Station and use the door that is just below to enter a long horizontal room. There is a Missile Tank at the end of this room, and fans can fill up their Energy by dispatching the Metroid enemies that they encounter along the way.

With that collectible obtained, players should backtrack and use the door on the left of the long horizontal room. After passing through that door, fans of 2D Metroid should jump against the wall directly across from them in the vertical room. There is a hole in this wall, and it leads to an alcove in which a Power Bomb Tank can be found.

Fans are now ready to make their way to the bottom-left corner of the vertical room, and they should pass through the door upon arrival. Players should then continue to the left and place a Power Bomb inside the tunnel that they encounter. This explosion will reveal a hole in the top of the tunnel, and fans should use a Missile to clear an upward path for Metroid's Samus Aran to traverse.

From the top of the tunnel, players should head up and to the right, shoot a piece of terrain in the top-right corner to clear it, and then use Morph Ball to enter an alcove with a Power Bomb Tank. Fans should then exit the alcove, shoot at a vent that is across the way, and pass through the hole that they created in order to reach a new room to the left.

On the left side of this new room, players will encounter two vents on the ground, and they should use a Bomb to get through them. Fans will then find themselves on a platform with four vents, and they should use a Bomb to clear the third one and enter the maze that is below. Here are the steps that must be taken in order to get through this maze, and fans of Metroid games should feel free to use a Power Bomb to quickly destroy several of the blocks at once:

  • Upon entering the maze, fans should use a Bomb to destroy the block and continue downward.
  • After landing, players should Jumpball and hold right to enter a hole in the wall. This hole can be used to reach the area where the Skultera is swimming.
  • Players should break the block in the Skultera's area and then fall to the bottom.
  • Fans should Jumpball and hold left to reach the ledge that is just above.
  • Players should place a Bomb to clear a block, hold left to pass through a hole in the wall, and then fall to enter the red Security Room.
