After beating Metaphor ReFantazio and watching the curtain fall on an 80+ hour-long story, players might be wondering what to do next. Reaching the finish line for this game is no easy task, as you have completed various side quests, taken down towering enemies, and finally brought peace to the land of Euchronia.
However, the job of our protagonist isn't done as there might still be a lot of loose ends that need to be tied up, as well as new content to explore.
Metaphor ReFantazio: Fishing Guide (All Baits & Answers)
Fishing is a fun activity in Metaphor ReFantazio that lets you sit on the port side on the ship's deck to get rare cooking ingredients.
Unlocking Remaining Trophies
There are a total of 44 trophies/achievements in Metaphor ReFantazio that players can unlock. Even though most of them unlock automatically as you progress through the game, others are tied to specific collectibles, side quests, and activities.
After reaching the end of the story and just before the final boss of the game, players can unlock their missing trophies by exploring the world and completing the events tied to them. This is a great way to get Platinum/all the trophies in your first playthrough.
Increasing Follower Bond Ranks
Players will be able to recruit 14 followers into their squad throughout their journey in Metaphor ReFantazio. Even if you've unlocked all the followers, it's possible that you may not have leveled up all of their follower bond ranks to max (Level 8).
Leveling up your followers' bond ranks includes interesting side activities that contain various dialog options. These interactions give players a deeper appreciation of a follower's motivations and personality.
In addition to the lore, you'll also unlock new abilities and archetypes for the characters that you can try using against enemies or in combat challenges.
Taking On the Varmareno Coliseum
Players looking for combat challenges can look at Port Brilehaven's Varmareno Coliseum in Metaphor ReFantazio. It's a great arena to test out your new equipment or follower combinations before facing off against the final boss.
The Coliseum has different challenges that scale in difficulty, but also in rewards. The escalating challenges put the players' skills to the test by pitting them against a variety of bosses.
Witness All Endings
Metaphor ReFantazio has a total of 4 endings to the story, although, don't expect a shiny cutscene at the end of each one. There's one good ending and the other 3 are all bad endings that happen as a result of a conversation gone badly with a character in the game.
Here's a list of all the endings in Metaphor ReFantazio that players can achieve, even in a single walkthrough.
- The Prince Bad Ending: Refuse to hear the truth from the 'Mysterious Voice' in the Ancient Eldan Sanctum on the 09/24 date.
- Louis Bad Ending: Choosing the "You’re absolutely right" dialog option during a conversation with Louis at the end of the Skybound Avatar main operation.
- More Bad Ending: During the final battle with Louis on Tyrant's Star, the protagonist agrees with More's thoughts after being rescued.
- True/Good Ending: After defeating Louis once and for all by answering his questions correctly on the date 10/26.
Tend to Leftover Side Quests & Bounties
There are over 70 side quests in Metaphor ReFantazio, and you're bound to miss a few of them while progressing towards the end of the game.
Right before entering the final confrontation with Louis, players can opt to revisit their backlog of side quests waiting to be completed. The side quests in Metaphor ReFantazio are quite fleshed out, each having a unique objective, and an interesting conversation with quest-giving NPCs.
They're fun to seek out and complete, which makes them a great activity to invest time in before or after beating the game.
Begin the Journey Anew
Metaphor ReFantazio offers a New Game Plus mode for players who wish to start another journey through the game. Most of the resources and items will be carried over in this new playthrough, making the journey a little easier from the start.
For players looking for a challenge, they can opt for the newly unlocked Regicide Difficulty mode that will put their skills to the test from the very start of the game. There's also a secret boss that is the toughest in the game, which you can discover after checking out the books in Akademeia. But, you don't really want to head into this boss fight unprepared.
