The Masked Dancer is an Archetype in Metaphor: ReFantazio that Junah possesses, and it isn't until players reach the next main area in the game that they can start completing the requirements for it. This guide provides information on how players can unlock the Junah as a Follower and defeat Kokasadors.
Shortly after reaching Port Brilehaven, players will have a deadline to infiltrate a Skyrunner, the next main story dungeon. After the events at the Skyrunner Charadrius and defeating the bosses inside, the party will have Junah join their party as a new member before being tasked with finding the ancient relic, Drakodias.
There is no deadline for this side quest, so Metaphor: ReFantazio players can focus on other time-related quests and come back to it later if they wish.

How To Unlock Masked Dancer Archetype In Metaphor: ReFantazio
Once you can freely explore Virga Island, find Junah next to More's Phantom and talk to her. This will begin the Save the Mourning Snakes quest. You must deal with the monster that is desecrating the Orbwise Path, and completing the quest will give you an increase in Imagination.
Chart a course for the Orbwise Path, which is not far from Virga Island. Be sure to cook some food in the Kitchen on the way. After you arrive at the location, you will find a relatively small dungeon with the Kokasadors boss at the end. After defeating the boss, Junah will become a Follower, unlocking the Masked Dancer Archetype.

The Kokasadors is a level 42 Boss and does not have that much health. The boss is weak against Physical Pierce and Fire damage types, making quite a lot of Archetype types shine in this boss fight. You must ensure everyone in your party has something to exploit the boss's weakness. Getting eight attack turns in the first round can allow you to easily take out almost half of the boss's health. Some of the Fire Synthesis attacks that Junah can deal a massive amount of damage, making them worth the two turns they use.
The boss will use Mamudodyne and Blizzaton, so make sure none of your party members have weakness against Dark or Ice attacks, as additional turns on the boss can be deadly. After a few rounds, the boss will target all party members who do not have a defensive buff active and one-shot them. This is the boss's most dangerous attack, and can wipe you out in a single turn.
To avoid this, you can use the Commander's Marakukaja Synthesis Skill, which increases all allies' Defense for 3 turns.
Once the boss has been dealt with, you will get:
- 1350 EXP
- 190 A-EXP
- 1500 MAG
- 2750 Money
- Tower White Mask

The Masked Dancer Archetype is the first unique Archetype in the game. This is because after unlocking the Archetype, players can craft Masks in the Special Experiments tab at More's Akademeia. These Masks, once crafted, can be equipped as Accessories, offering new Skills and changing the affinities. The masks that players need for crafting drop from enemies and bosses. They can also be purchased from a Eugief merchant in Port Brilehaven once you purchase "Secret Of The Eugief's Stall" for 1,000 Reeve at the Virga Island informant.
This makes the Masked Dancer quite a viable pick for an Archetype, as you do not have to unlock different Archetypes on a specific character and can craft Masks to acquire those skills. The A-EXP that accumulates on the Masked Dancer can generate a Hero's Leaf of Light after Rank 20, which you can use to level up your other Archetypes.
