What's New In Metaphor: ReFantazio's New Game Plus
For the New Game+ mode to feel enticing, it must offer players something new that's worthwhile to invest another 80+ hours in the game.
Starting the New Game Plus for Metaphor: ReFantazio will unlock the new difficulty, Regicide, for the game. This is the highest difficulty for the game, meant for only the most battle-hardened of players.
Regicide mode is difficult in two different ways:
- The enemies take less damage and instead do increased damage against the player.
- The damage output of the player is reduced against enemies.
Apart from the new difficulty setting, players will also be able to face off against a secret super boss called "Redscale Apocalypse Dragon." It's only available in the New Game Plus mode, and players can access it after interacting with a book in Akademeia called "The Book of Apocalypse."
Don't expect to beat this dragon boss as soon as you start the game. It is meant to be a challenge for the players to work toward in their new playthrough and overcome once they're ready.
