How to Open the Cathedral Locked Chest in Metaphor: ReFantazio

Get the Guest Room Key

The first step towards opening the locked treasure chest in the Regalith Grand Cathedral is obtaining the Guest Room Key. This key is found in a small room that is marked with an exclamation point (and is to the right of the locked chest), though fans will find that its entrance is blocked by rubble.

To bypass that obstacle, Metaphor: ReFantazio players must make their way to the room that is behind the room with the exclamation and crawl through a hole in the wall. Fans who are struggling to locate that hole are advised to reference the map and images that are above, and they should collect the Guest Room Key from a solider's body when they have finally entered the blocked room.

Go to the Guest Room

With the Guest Room Key in hand, players should now use the item to enter the Guest Room. This room is located just below the locked treasure chest, and fans will descend a small flight of stairs as they make their way toward it. Notably, players will be forced into a battle against several enemies immediately upon entering the Guest Room, and they should make sure that their party members in Metaphor: ReFantazio are prepared for a fight before using the key.

After dispatching the foes, JRPG fans will have the opportunity to speak with the Pale Monk in the Guest Room, and he will provide the Treasure Chest Keys. Players are then free to return to the locked treasure chest and claim the item that it holds.

What is in the Cathedral Locked Chest in Metaphor: ReFantazio

Players will receive a Sanctified Amulet as soon as they open the locked chest in Metaphor: ReFantazio's Regalith Grand Cathedral. This Key Item can be inserted into an altar that fans will encounter as they continue their journeys through the Cathedral, and players who perform that action will gain access to a chest that holds the Exorcist's Cassock.
