Some select people outside of those working on Hideo Kojima’s next game Death Stranding have been able to go hands-on with the game, with the latest being film director Jordan Vogt-Roberts. Vogt-Roberts, who has seemingly become closer to Kojima over the past few years as he sits at the helm of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid movie, is one of those lucky few to see Kojima’s mysterious new game. He tweeted his reaction saying that the game is a “miracle.”

Death Stranding, which is Kojima’s first game since his ugly split from Konami and the Metal Gear Solid franchise, looks to be pure Kojima according to Vogt-Robert’s tweet:

For reference, the Shinkawa mentioned in the tweet is Yoji Shinkawa, who is the third person in the photo. Shinkawa is Kojima’s longtime art director, whose signature art style is synonymous with all of Kojima’s games including Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders.

While Vogt-Robert’s enthusiasm over the project is undeniable, there are still very little details to go on about what exactly the game is. In an interview just recently released by Metro, Death Stranding star Norman Reedus remarked that even the game’s trailers so far have yet to fully explain what the game even is. He added that Death Stranding is “crazy complicated” and “so far out in the future” with its concept.

Besides Vogt-Roberts and Reedus, developers at Guerrilla Games were shown two hours of gameplay of Death Stranding by Kojima recently. That is no doubt due to the fact that Death Stranding is running off Guerilla’s Decima engine (which powered fellow PlayStation-exclusive Horizon: Zero Dawn). Although the game is in a showable state, developers at Kojima Productions say that Death Stranding is not done yet, so its release date remains a mystery.

Death Stranding is currently in development exclusively for PS4.
