Konami released another new update for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 with crucial bug fixes for trophy support on PlayStation 4 and "minor" fixes for the Nintendo Switch version. A list of known issues for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 was published by Konami as well, so players can expect even more updates to come.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 was announced shortly after the reveal of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater at the May 2023 PlayStation Showcase. The collection brings Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater to the latest generation of consoles, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Ahead of launch on October 24, excitement turned into caution for many Metal Gear Solid fans since reports noted that the collection suffered from technical issues and a lack of compelling features, such as the absence of 4K support. Konami released multiple updates for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 in the month following its release to improve the overall player experience.

Konami released the new version 1.3.1 update for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 on November 27 to apply further bug fixes for lingering issues from prior updates. Specifically, the update targets issues that were found in Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, including a bug that prevents trophies from unlocking on PlayStation 4. Konami notes that certain trophies cannot be unlocked immediately after loading save data, so players will need to fulfill requirements again for any trophies that were not unlocked in Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 update 1.3.0 or beforehand. Fortunately, the PlayStation 5 version appears to be unaffected by the trophy bug.

The latest update changes the in-game browser to Microsoft Edge on the Xbox Series X|S versions of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. Additionally, several minor issues were fixed in update 1.3.1 for the aforementioned Metal Gear and Metal Gear Solid games, but Konami did not list the exact bugs that were addressed in that particular excerpt.

Konami confirms that several known issues involving in-game cutscenes and resolution, the laser pointer effect, and mic audio in clips captured on Xbox Series X|S are still under investigation. A majority of these known issues appear to be affecting missions in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. More details about fixes will be revealed at a later date with a subsequent update.
