At the start of Megabonk, gamers will only be able to choose between two characters: Fox and Sir Oofie. However, the character selection screen has too many greyed out squares for this to me be the only two characters available in the game.

How Difficulty Works in Megabonk

Difficulty is an important stat in Megabonk - here's how it works and how to increase it.

Players can unlock up to 21 characters in Megabonk, but most of them are locked between challenges and quests. This guide will show players how they can gain access to all characters in Megabonk and provide information on what makes each one of them special.

Updated on December 20, 2025, by Ashely Claudino: Players had been anticipating the release of a major update for Megabonk for a while now, and it has finally happened. The Spooky Update is here, and fans have a whole new map to explore, more achievements, unique items, and one new character and weapon. This guide has been updated and now contains information on how to unlock Roberto, a themed character added to Megabonk in the Spooky Update, which was released on December 14.

They must once again make it through the Crypt in time to challenge Big Bob, the stage boss. Players who are able to defeat Big Bob in Megabonk and beat Graveyard will be able to buy the Scythe.

The hardest part now is to kill Spooky Steve, the hardest boss in Megabonk. Players who haven't challenged Spooky Steve yet can look at our guide to get some tips on how to beat him.

Once Spooky Steve has been defeated, players will be able to unlock Roberto.

Default weapon: Scythe

Buy: Weapon - Scythe

Similarly to the locked weapons in Megabonk, once players meet the requirements to unlock a character, they have to open the Unlocks tab from the Main Menu and purchase the character.
