Megabonk is a tremendously hardcore Roguelike, and if players want to make it to the top of the rankings, they should know a thing or two about buildcraft. Even if the game offers a random number of stat boosts through Sanctuaries and Treasure Chests, certain Stats are primed for Survival, while others are focused on Damage.
If players are looking for the best stats for Damage builds, then this guide might help them pick up a trick or two that will greatly enhance their chances of making it to the later Tiers of the game and deal tons of hurt in the process.
Best Stats To Pick For Damage in Megabonk
- Attack Speed: Because more attacks mean more damage, the Attack Speed stat will greatly shorten the intervals between auto-attacks, granting more damage output and coverage, as well as more chances to trigger other effects like Bounce and Penetration (in case of projectiles) and Lifesteal. More attacks also mean more chances to clear wave after wave of enemies, reaching higher levels of experience, and allowing the characters to snowball and break through the hard cap of power output.
Ideal items to pick to increase this stat are: The Cooldown Tome, and the Battery Item. And the best weapons to pair with this stat are Sword, Katana, Revolver, Wireless Dagger, Bow, Executioner, Hero Sword, Cursed Sword, and Firestaff.
- Critical Hit Damage: No matter if the characters have great critical hit chances (like CL4NK, for example), if they cannot deal tons of hurt each time they land a critical, then it's useless to have only that stat. Critical Hit Damage is basically what every player should aim for to cause tons of damage to every enemy around them. The more Critical Hit Damage players can grab (mainly from sanctuaries), the more the damage multiplier will increase, leading to ridiculous amounts of damage per hit.
The best characters for Critical Hit Damage are CL4NK, Bandit, and Ninja. Players can add more Critical Hit Damage by picking boosts from Shrines, or getting the Critical Tome.
- Damage %: To increase flat damage in Megabonk, the Damage % powerup from Shrines is one of the recommended picks. The more the flat damage value increases, the more damage per hit players will cause. This translates into overall damage output, which includes secondary effects such as poison, fire, and lightning effects from certain items like Electric Plug, Thunder Mitts, or the spread effects from items like Slurp Gloves and Spicy Meatballs. All of these damage percentage increase stacks, adding to the damage multiplier. If players pick the Damage Tome and a Damage % Increase from a Shrine, these two effects will combine and lead to more damage.
Items that grant this stat are the Damage Tome, the Credit Card (Red), the Gym Sauce, and the Beefy Ring (which grants +20% Damage per 100 HP), an ideal item for those who want to build HP.
- Projectile Number+: Projectile Number doesn't only affect ranged weapons, but it also increases the amount of AoE damage dots melee weapons like the Sword and Katana cause per attack interval, and increases the amount of Axes hurled (just to give an example). Projectile Number is a solid stat for damage increase, whether players want to build a melee character or a ranged character.
The best weapons to have with a Projectile Number Increase build are the Bow, the Revolver, the Sniper Rif l e, the Slutty Rocket, and most melee weapons. Aura weapons do not benefit from Projectile Numer, so players are better off trying other stats if they are going with those weapons.
- Critical Hit Chance: Unless players are running CL4NK, who has a passive that increases Critical Hit Chance per level, this stat will be one of the priorities they need to take in order to cause more damage. Combined with Critical Hit Damage, it will secure a steady damage output even in the higher tiers of difficulty. So, invest in Critical Hit Chance whenever the opportunity arises.
Players will want to pay special attention to leveling up their Precision Tome and Forbidden Juice, to increase their chances of landing critical hits.
