Of the more than 20 characters in Megabonk, none has the scaling potential that the Bandit has. To unlock the Bandit character, you must first unlock the Desert map (the second map in Megabonk), then find the Bandit statue, summon the Bandit miniboss, and defeat him. After this, purchase the Dexectutioner weapon (earned after 12,500 Kills with the Sword), and you will unlock the Bandit for purchase.

Megabonk All Maps Unlock Tiers
How to Unlock All Maps & Tiers in Megabonk (& Tips to Beat Tier 3)

There are two maps in Megabonk with three Tiers to take on, but to beat Tier 3, Megabonk players will have to min-max their build to the fullest.

This class might be powerful in the late game, but early in Megabonk, the best Bandit build gets off to a slow start. If you can pick up the best Bandit weapons, the best Tomes for the Bandit, and find the best Bandit items, Megabonk players will be able to quickly get stronger and outscale all but the most hardy of bosses – the only type of enemy that can't be instantly Executed by his starting Dexecutioner weapon.

This guide assumes that you have unlocked all four Weapon slots, all four Tome Slots, and most unlockable Items. Though it is still useful for Tiers 1 and 2, this best Bandit build guide is tuned for Tier 3 runs in Megabonk.

Best Bandit Weapons in Megabonk

The Best Weapons for Bandit in Megabonk

Megabonk Best Bandit Build Weapons-1

The Bandit starts with the Dexecutioner weapon and a passive that increases his Attack Speed by 1% for every level gained. The Dexecutioner is a short-range stabbing weapon that shoots in a straight line, and has a very small chance to instantly Execute an enemy. Each time you Execute an enemy, the chance to Execute goes up.

The Dexecutioner naturally synergizes with the Bandit's passive Attack Speed boost because a higher Attack Speed means more opportunities to trigger the Dexecutioner's Execute.

Most weapons work well alongside the Dexecutioner and this special ability, but the Wireless Dagger, Revolver, Bow, and Bananarang are all weapons you should go for over others. These all have incredible crowd-clearing potential, damage output, and simple synergies with items you will already be picking up to enhance your Dexecutioner.

Wireless Dagger

  • Wireless Dagger Effect: Fires smart daggers at your enemies. Wireless tech goes crazy these days.

Revolver

  • Revolver Effect: Fires multiple bullets at enemies.

Bow

  • Bow Effect: Shoots arrows that pierce enemies.

Bananarang

  • Bananarang Effect: Throws bananas that return to the owner.

Best Bandit Tomes in Megabonk

The Best Tomes for Bandit in Megabonk

Megabonk Best Bandit Build Tomes-1

The best Bandit Tome is the Cooldown Tome because, like his passive, it grants more chances to proc the special on-hit effect of both the Dexecutioner and Joe's Dagger. This should take your third or fourth slot, after the XP Tome, Luck Tome, and arguably Cursed Tome.

In the current meta for Megabonk, the XP Tome and Luck Tome are practically required to make meaningful progress into Tier 3 and have a chance at beating the final boss of either map. If you do not find either of these two Tomes within the first five minutes of your run, consider restarting.

Use Refreshes and Banishes to whittle down the options until the game has no choice but to offer one of these Tomes as a reward.

If you can't find a Cooldown Tome, the Precision Tome is great as it stacks with many of your weapons' high Crit Chance, the Quantity Tome gives even more chances to proc Execute, and the Damage Tome helps scale into the later game.

XP Tome/Cursed Tome/Luck Tome

  • XP Tome Effect: Increases how much XP you gain from every source
  • Cursed Tome: Increases Difficulty, increasing enemy spawns and stats
  • Luck Tome: Increases the Luck stat, improving your chance to get good items or upgrades

Cooldown Tome

  • Cooldown Tome Effect: +Attack Speed – how quickly you shoot projectiles and perform attacks.

Precision Tome

  • Precision Tome Effect: +Crit Chance – chance to deal critical damage. More than 100% Crit Chance lets you Overcrit, dealing even more damage.

Quantity Tome

  • Quantity Tome Effect: +Projectile Count – increases the number of attacks/projectiles.

Damage

  • Damage Tome Effect: +Damage – increases the damage of your attacks.

Best Bandit Items in Megabonk

The Best Items for Bandit in Megabonk

Megabonk Best Bandit Build Items-1

The best Bandit items Megabonk players should prioritize are those that grant unique powers to Crits, increase the chance to proc effects, or otherwise synergize with his passive and starting Dexecutioner weapon.

For Common Items, try to get Moldy Cheese and Ice Crystals for good debuffs on enemies that work well with rapid Attack Speed.

When it comes to Rare Items, Unstable Transformation is incredibly powerful for fast Attack Speed builds, while Beer, Backpack, and Demonic Blade can help push the potential of your weapons with little sacrifice.

There aren't many great Epic items for this build, but try to get Grandma's Secret Soup for more Crit synergies, Slup Gloves for a little bit of healing, and Eagle Claw to rapidly launch enemies into the air.

There are two items that are practically required for the best Bandit build in Megabonk to succeed: Overpowered Lamp and Joe's Dagger. Overpowered Lamp gives all attacks +1 chance to proc on-hit effects, while Joe's Dagger essentially copies the Dexecutioner Execute passive, but increases your overall Damage for each Execute performed.

Big Bonk and Anvil are also useful, but these are good in any build. If you see Joe's Dagger or an Overpowered Lamp for sale from a hat-wearing man, focus on getting enough Gold to buy it, as these two items radically empower this build.
